  1. there's an issue where if this mod is installed alongside realplume and waterfall the realplume configs arent disabled on waterfall-enabled engines, so you end up with both plumes appearing and causing a drop in performance. realplume stock fixes this by having a check for waterfall configs built into each config disabling the realplume config if one is detected, but this is not present in the realplume configs provided by this mod

The editor freezing only when you switch to the fuel tanks further indicate that there is some config for a fuel tank part that is messed up, since there are Proc Parts in other categories (decoupling for example). Only tip I have for finding out which mod is to blame, is to create a new install where you install some mods at a time until the issue re-appears.

figured it out, the problem is rational resources

Looks like a tank is using a shape name or another data field that is "null" for some reason. This would indicate some bad configs somewhere, but I have no idea where since any mod can add configs. Does the freezing happen if you try to switch to decouplers for example, or is it only fuel tanks?

alright i've done much more comprehensive testing this time. logs below

"freezing" in the editor only occurs when clicking on fuel tanks. i clicked on all other categories and had no issues with menu switching but as soon as i clicked on fuel tanks it would become stuck unless i changed sorting categories, and this problem would remain editor-wide until leaving and reentering the VAB/SPH. that is, once i clicked on fuel tanks, clicking on any other category would result in the same "freezing" issue with the menu.

as for the parts themselves, all of them are functional *except* for for the liquid fuel tank and the gas tank, which both remained completely empty no matter what. i've included an album of screenshots below showing exactly which parts worked and which didnt. i've included a screenshot of my complete gamedata folder to show any non-CKAN mods that are missed by the .ckan file

one minor "issue" that seems to be unrelated to this is that the nose cone part does not allow for diameters smaller than 0.625m. not sure if this is a feature or a bug. i have enabled unlock all part upgrades so that's not the issue.

  4. I'm having a problem with procedural parts, it's caused by some incompatibility with another mod but I can't figure out which one. In the editor when I click on any section that has a procedural part in it the menu becomes stuck on whatever tab I was currently viewing and doesn't switch. IE if I'm on command pods and click on fuel tanks the menu stays stuck on command pods and won't change to fuel tanks unless I force it to update by clicking on a different sorting method. Furthermore the procedural parts themselves are completely broken. Here is my mod list and player log: (EDIT: see my new post with more comprehensive info/logs)

I'm having an issue where whenever I make a maneuver node it basically breaks the game, making me unable to right click on any part without this happening and effectively making it impossible to click on. After removing the node, after a little while the weird UI glitch goes away but I remain unable to right click on anything. On occassions, it will lag the game horrendously and start duplicating mechjeb toolbar icons, which do not go away no matter what (I have seen them in the start menu before), although I have yet to encounter that particular variation of the problem in 1.12.2. Log here

EDIT: Forgot to mention, this is using the latest dev version, but the problem persists on non-dev versions as well, even when downgrading to 1.11.2screenshot686.png

Nevermind, figured it out. Not a mechjeb problem, it's caused using Harmony alongside AirlockPlus, which for some reason requires a very old version and will cause this bug if the latest versions are used.

  7. National Tragedy: The Story of Jorvey Kerman

On a routine day at KSC, the boys at mission control decided to do a routine check of their KSC-issued tethers to make sure they were safe under high speed. They took out one of their standard planes, the Hermes II, a plane commonly referred to as Old Reliable. The Hermes II was a small, but efficient plane. wXHncJC.png

The Hermes II could go up to about 300 m/s, and could fly very far without using much fuel. But it's primary selling point was a cargo bay, holding small to medium sized packages that could easily be dropped from high above, allowing easy transport of many things.PRy4tkc.png The Hermes II, devoloped during a war to drop bombs, is now widely used for dropping bombs, to research stations, to care packages, for the wounded. After they got it out of the hanger, they went to the astronaut complex and picked out two eager young men, itching for their first flight. The two recuits were Hudvey and Jorvey Kerman.ni9N66w.png After getting everything ready, and doing a quick pre-flight review of how to grab the tether and the parachute, Jorvey and Hudvey were on their ways. Hudvey, having more experience as a pilot, flew the plane, and Jorvey, more daring, was the one in the cargo bay testing the tether line. They heard mission control say on the radio,

Mission Control: Alright boys, we've decided that since today is a quite day, you'll get to be filmed live on KSC-TV. Don't worry, on boring days like today, nobody will be watching. Whenever your ready, fire up the engines.

    Hudvery: Roger that.

The plane began to climb forward. After only a little bit, it was off the ground. They soared high above the ground, climbing closer to the clouds. Everything was going well. Both of them were feeling the thrill of flying for the Kerbal Space Program. Hudvery looked up to the Mün, and wondered, hoped, dreamed, of one day reaching it. Jorvey watched as the cargo bay slowly opened. He climbed out of his command pod, hooked his tether up, and got ready for the first jump. XT3pgcz.png

    Finally, he was lowered down.

    MsnSJzx.png

He felt the fresh wind blowing against his face, he felt the thrill of being so up, he felt the fear of falling, and had the bravery to over come it. After a few minutes, he was pulled back into the plane. He put the tether back on the ceiling hook, and climbed into his pod for a quick break and a bag of crisps. But then, it began. First he got out of the pod. He tried to grab a parachute from the wall. But it shook violently, throwing Jorvey to the bottom of the pod. At this point, more viewers began to pick up on the channel, reaching 300,000 viewers from 1,000 in just a few minutes. Hudvery devised a plan. He would shut off the engines to allow a few seconds of decreased gravity so Jorvey could become unstuck. A few seconds later, Mission Control confirmed the plan was a go. Suddenly, the engines shut down. Jorvey wiggled as much as he could but he couldnt become unstuck. Realizing the altitude meter had dropped dangerously low, going from 10,000 meters to 3,000. Hudvery turned on the engines again. The plan had failed. Jorvey was now more stuck, sitting in a tiny pocket behind the pod. lQCkUG3.png Slowly, Jorvey heard the engines whistle as they worked hard to level out the plane. Soon, they were back above the clouds. At this time, over a million people had been watching the station live. There was only one final last ditch plan. Hudvery would have to point the plane straight up, then shut off the engines. Afterwords, the cargo bay doors would have to be opened, with Jorvey untethered so he could try to use his few seconds of zero-gravity to get back into the pod. It was dangerous and risky, but it was the only option. Suddenly, Jorvey heard the engines shut off. He saw the cargo bay begin to open. Jorvey felt the adrenaline rush through is body. Finally, he slid out. Immediately, he activated his jet pack. But it was too late. He started drifting away from the plane faster than he could thrust towards it. tAwGc7G.png In a desprate panic, Hudvery released the crane from the plane, hoping Jorvey could grab on in time. But he couldn't. A picture was taken of him falling as the crane tether dropped in an attempt to save him. 5cfIWa3.png Jorvey was doomed. All Mission Control could do now is tell Hudvery to save himself, and stay in contact with Jorvey until the end. The nation sat watching, in panic, as Jorvey descended from the clouds, YGKz3sH.png For Jorvey Kerman, had met his fate. bGJFAxS.png He uttered his last words to mission control as he fell. RJcVHMq.png"Though I may be leaving Kerbin now, I am going to the stars. All of us will one day reach them, for it is only a matter of time. So do not think of my death as a tragedy, but as the end of the first stage of my journey, my journey to explore the universe an all of its wonders, is just beginning." Afterwards, one final splash was heard, and the nation fell silent.

  9. Don't worry, lots of new fun stuff will be added in 0.24 which isnt too far now, and after that, even more.

    Here's proof:

Squad is committed to add multiplayer to the finished game after the success of the user created mod KMP, or Kerbal MultiPlayer. Squad says “Multiplayer is something we had planned to do after it was all said and done, but it’s time for us to start looking at it nowâ€Â.[17] With 0.24 Squad specifically states that they working on the first steps to add multiplayer after career is finished.
