SSTOs! Post your pictures here~
anonymousgamer replied to KissSh0t's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
This SSTO I have can't go anywhere but orbit without refueling and it doesn't carry cargo. But I still love it. On takeoff (and obviously when completely fueled) it weighs 1791.35 tons. -

So I made this spaceplane SSTO. On the runway it weighs 1009.33 tons. It's way too big and unbalanced to go anywhere, so I'll keep it up in space to use as a space station. I've got four docking ports to use to expand. It already has 971 parts so that may not be a good idea. I have no idea how much of a payload it can carry, but I recently added 5 tons to the plane (up from 1004 tons... also 5 tons is nothing in comparison to the rest of the plane) and it only improved flight by a massive amount. I've got no room to test payload capacities, though. I doubt it can hold that much, as it only barely gets to space before running out of fuel. Either way I feel accomplished. Giant things are awesome. -
G-Force Surviving Spaceplane

The flight log said my max G's in this mission was 29. How do I know my max G's? I'm doing a loop, I'm just taking several screenshots at the bottom of the loop and grabbing the screen with the highest G reading. -

The flight log is terrible. Use the accelerometer instead. -

It's nowhere near as big as some of my other planes, but it's certainly the heaviest. -

Today, I built my first working SSTO. I may have overdone it. It weighs in at 372 tons at 521 parts currently. By the time it reaches orbit, it weighs 130 tons. Currently, the only thing this plane can successfully do is reach orbit. It can't land or go to other systems because of thrust balancing issues. I'm steadily improving it, though. -
Space Engine, because it's space, and why would anyone dislike space?

My steam name is anonymousgamer. My favorite class is Heavy/Sniper/Soldier, with some Demo/Engi thrown in there. I don't have many hats, but my favorite is my Vintage Ritzy Rick's Hair Fixative for the sniper. I have a bunch of generic stranges but nothing special. Currently I have 198 hours logged. I bought TF2 the first day of 2009 along with the Orange Box and therefore I am not F2P.

How dare you leave out Markiplier from that list.

The 2nd, 4th, and 5th screenshots are actually mine. Juuust sayin'

The Giant MkIV - Enormous airplane
anonymousgamer replied to anonymousgamer's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Good to know its flight characteristics; I'll work on that later. I can't fly it that far because of sheer lag, so I can't test it. -

Yeah it takes a good minute to finally catch air... -

About 91 m/s, so just before it hits the end of the runway. It's not a slow plane. -
After 4 iterations of my airplane labeled the "Giant" (oh the originality), I finally have something I am truly proud of. Meet the Giant MkIV, a 1159 part airplane. This plane here carries 23260 units of jet fuel that power 16 turbojet engines that have to push 4 fuselages. Everything about this plane was about size. I didn't want to cut corners either, so as you can see I didn't use any mods and I didn't use the aid of SRBs for takeoff. Unfortunately, due to its size, I can't properly test it. I don't know what the range of it is, or the max speed, or its flight ceiling, or its agility. It's too laggy for me to test. But hey, I got it off the ground, I'm sure it can do more than that. Anyways, here is the download link: http://www./download.php?2k2lxrv7iif3yj2 Let's see how many FPS you can run this plane.

As you can probably tell I'm a new forum member. Anyways, I discovered KSP from my friend about a year ago, with .13 or .14, I can't remember. I played it a lot but I eventually got tired of it, and then new versions released, and I forgot about it. About 2 weeks ago I checked the new version of KSP because of seeing mentions of it around the internet, so I bought it on Steam. Instantly hooked. I made a bunch of rockets and was wowed at all the new stuff put in, especially the atmospheric effects and structural parts. Then I noticed the airplanes. I ditched rocket making and started making airplanes, and as of now I mostly make airplanes instead of rockets (not that I can't make working rockets, I make rockets that are just fine, I'm just a horrible pilot at them) and so I have an increasingly large number of airplanes that are either strangely designed, amazingly maneuverable, record-breakingly massive, etc., so I thought I would join to share some planes I made/am making/will make. Here's some images of such planes: http://imgur.com/a/NOqMn TL;DR: I'm new, but I'm not new, and I make planes.
