  1. Someone doesn't know what SSTO means. SSTOs can be rockets. It's Single Stage To Orbit, not single stage to mun and back. And no they are not impossible. Far from it. A single Rapier with a fuel tank and some wings tacked on can do the job easily.
  2. Jet engines or rocket engines? Jet engines require a certain amount of intake air, or they will cut out. And their thrust varies with speed and intake air.
  3. This has the same problem, that you need to unlock multiple nodes for engine, tank, seperator,... My suggestion is starting each branch with a basic set of one specific size or purpose. For example a basic set for 2,5m rocketry: 1 x 2,5m engine 1 x 2,5m fuel tank (preferable not the smallest one) 1 x 2,5m cockpit 1 x 2,5m decoupler This basic set then branches out to multiple extension sets and to the basic set for the next higher technology tier (in this case 3,75m rocketry). Extension sets add more options to the corresponding basic set. With this system you can relatively quickly unlock more advanced base sets, and ignore the extensions for the lower tier sets if you are not interested in them. Some examples for different extension sets: advanced fuel tanks advanced engines advanced mechanics (decouplers, adapters,...) mobility (ladders, landing legs, wheels) advanced controls (cockpits, reaction wheels, rcs systems) advanced aerodynamics Some examples for different base sets: 1,25m rocketry 2,5m rocketry 3,75m rocketry Mk.1 aeronautics Mk.2 aeronautics Mk.3 aeronautics unmanned flight (probe cores, ion engine, xenon tanks, 0,625m parts) space stations (docking ports, crew cabins,...) science (sensors, antennas, labs,...) mechanics (girder segments, base plates,...) electrics (batteries, solar cells, lamps,...) Some specialized parts or extension sets could be made unlock-able from the start, without a parent-base set. (launch clamps, for example) Or you only need one of multiple base sets to unlock the extension. (for example the rapier could be unlocked from Mk.2 aeronautics or from some advanced rocket engines node)
  4. I noticed this too. Used to fly 800 part ships with almost no stutters in .90. Now i notice heavy lags with less than 500 parts. I guess that's the price for a more realistic aerodynamic model.
  5. I'm a big fan of all the part and physics updates (yes, even the new aerodynamics). On the other hand, i really dislike the grindy progression in career mode.
  6. You forgot the option for "It's worse than before". Not saying it is, it didn't play 0.90. But the current version is very poor. Why can't i unlock reasonable sized fuel tanks earlier? Why do i have to build 6-high stacks of the smallest fuel tank? The science progression and building upgrades are just a painful grind with a much too small selection of sub-par parts.
  7. I like the new aero model. Rockets are easy, low altitude planes are easy, space planes are hard. As it should be. As for the career mode, i totally agree. The science progression is absolute crap. You need to grind forever with the same handful of crappy parts before you can build something useful. The grind feels even worse than a japanese mmo. There need to be much more parts available at the start, especially larger fuel tanks, fuel lines, decouplers, and a few plane parts.
  8. Can someone please explain this line? Does it mean that thrust now scales with Isp, instead of fuel consumption scaling with Isp?
  9. In 0.19 i was using the Alt+R shortcut to disable radial attachment on fuel tanks (on very large rockets), so it was easier to place them on top of each other without them snapping to everything else around there. This doesn't seem to work in the new version.
  10. That's not a problem, but then you have to live with the fact, that this is an alpha and any new version could break your saves or introduce new bugs.
  11. I hate to repeat myself, but this is an alpha test, which means we are all alpha testers. So they have a team of tens of thousands of alpha testers. What more do you want? If you don't want to be an alpha tester wait for V1.0 to play the game!
  12. 1.) Trying out which of my old ships and mods were still working. 2.) Trying to fix the ones, that didn't or removing them. 3.) Testing the stability of the new rover wheels and the big clamp'o'tron
