I just wanted someone to celebrate with

my bad I was just so excited I posted in here lol as for pictures I'll get one or two up at some point, still don't know how to do that isn't learning fun! -
After an hour and a half of slooooooooooooowly edging the first two parts of my very first space station together I have finally completed my first docking!! I was so excited and wanted to jump around and cheer with someone, sadly I'm on my own (I still jumped around and cheered by myself of course ) that's the entire point of this post. Yay me! Loving the new SAS in .21 aswell

If you understand the mechanics of the game/space flight well enough to be able to accomplish whatever you wish within the bounds of the game, and then explain to someone like me how to do those things successfully and repeatably then you are pretty damned good in my opinion. Being uber skilled for your own entertainment is one thing, sharing that knowledge and helping lumps like myself along is something else

stick an SRB underneath it and have Jeb hit the launch button when he loses

yeah I had a look through that one earlier, I read pretty much all rover threads as I see them pop up, I have no idea why all this won't click in my head, I feel if I could watch it happening in front of me it would go some way to sorting this out for me. I thanks you for your response though, much appreciated I have no problem building weird and wonderful rockets and landers to go places and see things, just rovers have me stumped, its bizzarre

I am having a real mental block when it comes to building a workable rover (preferably manned with the new seat part we now have) and a way of landing it on moons/planets. I have browsed through these forums looking for tips and inspiration but nothing is really clicking in my head, its very frustrating and a little odd, surely its not that hard! Anyway, screenshots and descriptions aren't helping much so could I request a video tutorial, using small words to make a basic functional rover and lander and then get it to a body. If this exists already simply point the way and receive my most profuse of thanks, I will make my savior a Kup of Koffee in a special mug Many thanks you beautiful people you

On a completely unrelated note Sir Nahme that's the first time I've seen your signature and now I can't get the song out of my head, it made me chuckle, any chance of a music video to accompany it

I'm having the same problems with frame rate drops, cleared everything out and did a fresh install so its not incompatible mods, the game ran fine with .19. I had a quick play last night, built a little Mun lander for the joy of planting a flag and got horrible lag from launch through to about 40/50km (wasn't watching properley) once out of the atmosphere it was smooth as silk. On re-entry through to splash down with the capsule it started lagging again, so I'm guessing my slowdown problems are coming from loading textures on Kerbin, will have a play around with graphics settings and such like to see if this is fixable. This is not me complaining btw, just thought it was worth mentioning and this seems like the thread to do so

A handy chart for Aerocapture at Jool

This made me chuckle I never get tired of seeing the proper science done on these forums, I understand none of it, but its nice to know that someone, somewhere knows what is going on -
In no way is this intended to start an argument between the stock (or purist) players and the equally active modding community. My question is this: I currently play with no mods as I am still learning the game and would prefer to experience all I can before I start changing things, however it occurred to me that with a game in such an early stage and such an amazing mod community that many of these mods will make it to the full release in one form or another, and these are the mods I will install probably sooner rather than later in order to get a 'leg up' (?) on future updates. So I have been considering which ones to choose from and the three that immediately jump to mind are 1. Mechjeb - like it or loathe it, the info screens look extremely useful from the youtube videos I've seen, and the decision to actually use it on your rockets rests with you the designer 2. Kethane - not sure of the actual name of this mod, but resources are coming, so it would be useful to have a look at the logistics of such an operation. 3. Kerbal engineering (?) - again not sure of actual name, but being able to see rocket weight, TWR, and DV in the VAB is going to be very useful when I get around to designing more efficient rockets. So aside from these 3 are there any other mods that are likely to be included, in some form or other, in the full release? I'm not going for parts packs as it looks like we'll be getting new parts with each update so I'll wait for them

I had also been wondering about this, just hadn't gotten round to posting the question yet, for some reason I keep forgetting about how amazingly helpful this community is, takes some getting used to I guess. Anyway time to commence building, attempting to launch and sploding spectacularly. Now thats fun times

Random thought, just had a quick glance through the forums and nothing jumped out at me concerning this, would it make sense to have some kind of wind tunnel building in the space center when the aerodynamics get some work done? I know this goes against the Jebediah way of thinking, strap a rocket to something and hope for the best. Like I say its not a big suggestion, which is why its in here, more of a random thought I had while floating to Minmus :-)

Hello space friends, yay my first post! I just wanted to share my excitement at my first Mun landing. After several 'simulated' landing attempts Jeb and lander made it to the surface of the Mun in one piece. He EVA'd and spent some time looking back at Kerbin with a satisfied smile on his face while I clapped and cheered my piloting skills Sadly I'm still enough of a noob that I forgot to take a screenshot in the excitement lol Unfortunately things then went wrong, I lifted off, set up a maneuver node to set up my burn back to Kerbin.....3,2,1 burn yay....awww dammit out of fuel! Poor Jeb is now drifting around in a slightly eccentric orbit of the Mun. Ah well time for a rescue mission, now I have a reason to learn how to do an orbital rendezvous, woohoo. Don't worry Jeb we never leave a man.....ahem.....Kerbanaut behind! A big thanks to Scott Manley and pebble_garden for their tutorial videos without which I would still be sploding on the launch pad On a side note does anyone else spend more time looking at these forums and watching videos than actually going to space? I click on to see whats new and lose myself for several hours
