  1. To me the contract explanations always read like some kind of goofy algorithm wrote them, they all sound like a crazy person rambling about that job they were fired from a year ago.
  2. I came to this forum to write this exact same post. You honestly took the words right out of my mouth. Just standard career mode is way too hard now. That 30 part count is so frustrating, as is the tiny rewards for some of these tedious part testing contracts. I get that some of this is supposed to be hard, but it's not balanced any more. I know in my head that I can do a custom mode and drag the sliders go get more money, science, etc, but that just feels like cheating, even though to some extent that is exactly what I want Squad to do in the next iteration! I bought this game for a buddy, and he only played it for 30 mins before quitting. Just a little less tedious please!
  3. Embed does seem to work, here's a direct link http://vimeo.com/91586502
  4. Hope you like this (Caution, some spoilers)
  5. Ever since I saw the Build Fly Dream video I have wanted to do my own 'epic' KSP video. Recently I completed an exhausting Laythe return mission and took my first crack at that kind of video. It's not perfect, but I thought I would share it anyway. Thanks to this forum for cluing me in on the excellent KerbCam. http://vimeo.com/84191195
  6. Fantastic work. So just to understand, is the exterior purely for appearance? Works really well, I had never even considered that before. I think I use about 1/10th of all the parts available when I build things...not creative enough! Again, nice work.
  7. Thanks for all the replies. It really is a pain. The orbit this Kerbal was stuck in was a huge ellipse I took the suggestion from Awaras to match periapsis, and it took forever, and suddenly I noticed that my first rescue attempt, a ship that had been shadowing this Kerbal in a nearly identicle orbit had finally drifted fairly close (within a few million kms) So I used that. Here's a shot of the rendezvous. The lone kerbal (Desperately in need of a shower) is dead centre in the image, rescue ship to the left)
  8. So I have a Kerbal who has been stuck on his own circling the solar system in a large elliptical orbit for nearly 20 years. He is in a huge elliptical orbit that goes from just inside Jool orbit at apopapsis to inside of Kerbin orbit at periapsis. He ended up stranded without gas, and after all these years I've decided to try and go rescue him. No luck. I get decent ships with ample delta-v out there but I just cannot seem to line things up correctly. The rendezvous technique I typically use is to null relative velocity, point at target and accelerate, then repeat until I'm close enough to use RCS. At these distances, that just won't work, I need to fine tune this, I need to do the math I think. Does anyone know a good calculator or process for approaching this problem? I'm sick of eyeballing it, I want to get this Kerbal home so he can take a shower!
