[PLUGIN+PARTS][0.23] SCANsat terrain mapping
Rocketman1994 replied to damny's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Soooo, out of curiosity is this mod work with 23.5? I only use MJ and kerbal alarm clock (so I'm not that mod heavy). -
While governments around the country race each other to the moon, SpaceX beats everyone and is the first private company to land on an non earth surface..Mars.

Its an incomplete product. I betcha its gonna be a lot harder when, life support, a realistic reentry model and economics starts coming into play.

Improving the science grind
Rocketman1994 replied to Bilgewater's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
How about science not only giving you points but actually giving you information? Geo, atmospheric, temp, radiation, gravity, etc. That would make science a lot more fun for me. -
Show off your awesome KSP pictures!

Your first suggestion worked like a charm, back to setting up my Kerbal-Mun communications network! -
[0.20] RemoteTech: Relay Network – V 0.5.0.1
Rocketman1994 replied to JDP's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Sorry to repeat post I mentioned this earlier and didn't get a clear answer. My menus for my probes aren't popping up. They can still target stuff and my whole relay system works fine, but I cant use the flight computer or see what all my probes are looking at. When I even click on the dish or antenna and it says "show menu" or "hide menu" it doesn't come up, I reinstalled the mod and it was there for my first play though before disappearing when I turned off the game and then started playing later. Right now its not a big issue but down the road, its gonna be a pain. Am I missing something? -
No, its all played on the forum, short version, you give me missions and funding, I do it, report back.
-
One thing to remember, I have remotetech mod, if you (since youre my only player) want me to play with that I can, if not I won't http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/remotetech-3/ (about remotetech)
-
Sweet, since we have one player you can start whenever you want and give me a mission report (try to make it somewhat detailed if you could). IE Type: Duration: Mission Goal: Secondary Goal: Funding: Since we only have one, right now hopefully more people will join in as we play.

"The treaty was signed, all of Kerbol can now have peace. Under one government and one flag, the Kerban's have conquered the atrocities there home planet. From hunger, war, environmental damage, Kerbals only have one place to look to, the stars. Under the "Make Things Go Boom Boom" law, the UKG (United Kerbal Government) has decided to create the Kerbal Space Agency (KSA), with the KSA's goal to increase a Kerbal presence in space, conduct science, and seeing how many boosters you can fit on one rocket. Sadly, the UKG does not have a lot of money to spare, so it is looking to members of the Kerban nations (aka you guys)." I didn't know whether to put this under missions reports or fan works, but I figured it would work best here. Since career mode isn't out yet, I figured i'd try to make a game that I and you guys could play, so here we go. The KSA needs funding, and you guys provide it. To play the game, all you have to do is say, I wanna play. You will be given 3,000 kbucks (KB) and the you bank account info will be kept on this page. What you will do is submit mission reports, fund them by yourself or collaboration with forum members from your bank (as the missions get bigger and complex that will be required). Or if forum members see a mission they want to contribute to they can. With the fund given, I will attempt to carry out these missions (in the game), less funds=higher chance of failure, more funds=higher chance of success. Each mission has a prize. If the mission is successful, you get the percentage of the prize money that you contributed (aka you were responsible for 50% of the funding, you get 50% of the prize). If the mission fails, you lose all the money you contributed. For the missions you propose, I will determine the award amount. When the mission is finished, ill write up a mission report. Now a tip, you should follow the natural progression of a space program. No testing will be done, so I would recommend starting off with something like a sub orbital satellite and going from there. But in the end, its your KB, if yall go broke pushing me, well sorry So any interest, questions, am I making sense (its 3 in the morning when I write this). I think it would be fun, not only do I get missions and money (like a career mode haha) but you get to decide what I do, while figuring out what to fund. Keep in mind if I do go through with this, I may change the rules slightly in the name of fairness, so don't get pissy. Also Mods I have Installed MechJeb remotetech Ordan Telescopes Mapsat I plan on using all of them since Remotetech add need for satellite and Ordan/Mapsat gives science. Players: 1:ninjakids 3,000 KB

[0.20] RemoteTech: Relay Network – V 0.5.0.1
Rocketman1994 replied to JDP's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I love this mod, but I have some questions! First, can you reestablish contact with lost probes, ie if you lost contact can you reestablish it when they get in range. Second I think this is a bug but all my menus disappeared, I still have connections and stuff but the menus are gone. I tried clicking on the dishes so they would appear but it didnt work Thanks! Awesome mod, Im loving try to set up my network -

Question, for a first timer going through the new update how do you transfer saves? I kinda like the game I got going right now.. -
Noob question, can I view the data i've collected from MapSat on other vessels, for instances of I wanted to land on Mun, I would first send a map sat probe, map it could I see that info on my lander that doesn't have the mapsat dish?
-
It could had been worth it if it had been built on, and even then I think it is worth the cost just because of the prestige, science and inspiration it caused. Just think about all the technology that Apollo and the programs leading up to that discovered. Its simply mind boggling. If NASA would had kept going, think about how much mining would make, or tourism if it was affordable. Thats why I'm so hopeful for companies like Virgin Galactica and SpaceX, because once they get going and start making money, you can bet your ass they won't turn back.

Hi guys, first let me go off by saying I love this game, it plays right to a lot of my interests and being able to run my own space program is awesome. Let me also add, I do have some basic things under my belt. My program has slowly been progressing to where I want it to go. At first getting into orbit or even sub-orbit resulted with explosions and tears (although over time I have grown numb from the amount of Kerban's i've killed), when I did my orbits were weird looking and could rarely be reproduced. Throw in that my rocket tech was widely inconsistent, not stable and really primitive. Over time though, my little Kerbal program has been advancing. We are now able to send the little guys into orbit consistently, giving them nice, flat, circular orbits. I even have gotten my rocket tech down somewhat, with my KHL series (Kerbal Heavy Lifter) being able to send fairly heavy loads into orbit. My current goal is to build what I'll call Station 1, a space station in orbit (at about 150k-200k km above kerbal. Its mission being to provide fuel to interplanetary missions, giving Kerbal a consistent space presence and to give me experience docking. That last part is where my difficultly comes in. To make my station, I need to perform about three docking operations to complete it. Even though the KHL series has made huge strides, it is not powerful enough to launch an entire space station. I have watched tutorials by Scott Manley, I am pretty good at getting it close enough to being able to see it on screen and seeing the little speed tracker change from Orbit to target. My problem is I can never get close enough to start using RCS to perform final docking procedure. So I was wondering if anyone had and tips or tricks, I am going to go back to the Scott Manly video again and see if I can get anything, but any suggestions would be much appreciated. TL:DR I need help docking, I can never get close enough to perform the final approach with RCS, how do I do it?
