  1. Laythe is supposed to be a sortof combination of those two things, with the volcanism added later. I'd like to see one of the three gas giants replaced with a supermassive terrestrial way far out. bigger than eve, yet still low atmoshpere due to the lack of elements still gaseous in the cold temps. 2 or 3 moons, one sort of like the old Moho with just a residual atmosphere.
  2. you'd want to be higher so it can scan more, but a polar orbit is the way to go. make sure you have plenty of batteries, and you don't need a full scan to know where the Kethane is.
  3. IF you want it to go faster, and are good at EVA, use Scott Manley's trick and get out and push. To do this: 1. turn on SAS 2. EVA your Kerbal 3. push on your ship so you're thrusting retrograde 4.climb back in and repeat as necessary. doing this at Apoapsis will be the most efficient/ fastest, and will probably get you down as far as you need to go
  4. The maneuver node system works for this. by burning at zenith or nadir you can raise or lower your inclination, of which you can see the effects by using the maneuver nodes. I believe the symbols are a purple triangle/ square (the shapes may not be correct, but I know its purple). you will also want to burn slightly retrograde or you will be adding velocity.
  5. If you can run the demo, you can run .21, You may need to lower some graphics setting.
  6. That could work, but only to an extent. Remeber- We don't have full-sized celestial bodies in KSP, so why do the distances have to be the same way? Answer: they already aren't. So what makes this any different? if we make the distances more "Kerbal" this idea could easily work. I don't have time right now to average it all out, but based on the part size "Half- sized" would be a good rough bet. so that 2.98 minutes on page 1 suddenly becomes 1 minute 30 seconds. Easy. that 50 light years? ~15 minutes. Not terrible, again you can still do other stuff while its traveling. We don't have N-body Physics, if multithreading ever gets implemented those 2 systems, the galactic center and all your spacecraft will be an easy job with a little tweaking of the current system. Of course, all this will still take time, but for the dev's sake we aren't suggesting eveything to happen at once. Let's at least finish the current system and career mode, then we can return to this topic.
  7. He's right. Think of how many stars Spore has. I'm guessing it doesn't have an advanced Physics engine like KSP, but KSP would necessarily render those stars. We aren't talking a legitimate galaxy like in real life, something smaller, more "Kerbal". I'd say 1,000 would be a good number, 1/3 of which have planets/asteroids. (still Wishful thinking, I know).
