So I've been wondering what's happened to the second space center on the other side of Kerbin so I went on a little expedition. Some nice mountains. Oh some new lakes. Those mountains look more massive. Ah still old-fashioned. So if your ever feeling nostalgic you can always come here.

Reminds me of the Yamato. Very cool. Do whatever it takes to get in space. -
SSTOs! Post your pictures here~

One way to do it without mods (which you should do since it's one of the requirements) is overlapping your layers of armor. Think of it like a knight's armor; that should allow for complete coverage despite any awkward shape. -

Hello again, everyone. In regards to my carrier on page 7, I wonder how I could improve it. Then as I docked my clumsy Mun lander in, it hit me. Some service droids could really help. So I built two AI droids; one is based off Macey's design(OTTO) the other is my own design(BOB). The two droids handle both size docking ports located throughout the ship. Here they are making orbit. Jebediah tries talking to the new droids even though they don't communicate verbally. Jebediah made new friends. These are the droids you're looking for. http://www./download/2ynl1q2r2aut4vv/Service_Droids.craft -

I'm seeing lots of cool ships, but not many craft files. You guys do remember that that's one of the requirements Chozo Nomad wanted right? -

I made this ship after I was inspired by the Spirit of Kerbin. But after seeing its destruction it seems this ship could be a suitable replacement as a flagship. It is a smaller, faster carrier than the SOK and can be outfitted for many missions. Here it is making orbit as required proof. At launch select the center docking port and click "Control from here" Fly straight up throught the thickest atmosphere (around 12 km) then begin a 45 degree gravity turn. At this angle burn the rest of the fuel in the external tanks. That fuel will get you a high enough altitude for the next step. Turn completely horizontal to Kerbin and continue burning on the ship's own engines. You will make orbit with plenty of fuel. The ship comes with 4 junior docking ports 5 regular docking ports and an external docking port for refueling. The side tanks aren't used by the ship for its fuel. They are for refueling other crafts or refueling the ship itself. I calculated its mass full and empty to find it has a delta V of 5013.93 m/s unmodified. Enjoy flying her. http://www./download/cqj9jqkxh4cxb7j/Flagship.craft Ship class: Flagship Company: KASA Allegience: Spiritwolf Part count: 200 EDIT: For some service droids, see page 20. Works just fine in the new v0.21.1 -
Yes mods are allowed, just as long as the physics remains unaltered.

Yes, rockets are OK.

I think any extra feats and accomplishments do deserve a bonus, however if I start listing every feat I could possibly think of in the requirements it would quickly get overcrowded with bonuses. Just know that extra accomplishments are their own bonus award.

I was looking at the designing aspect as the challenge, since a rocket automatically solves the VTOL part of this challenge. As for rockets' maneuverability, I found from my own experience that it's best to shoot straight up through the thickest part of the atmosphere and then do maneuvers in thinner atmosphere. Although until it's solved scientifically, it will be a matter of personal opinion. P.S. very nice canUCK SSTO

Not bad, it completed all the requirements. However when I envisioned this challenge, I was imagining spaceplanes since a VTOL SSTO spaceplane is more challenging than a VTOL SSTO rocket. I'm not going back on my word though; I'm allowing rockets, but I'm also going to give bonus points to whoever gets a spaceplane to succeed.

Hello to all you rocket builders, it's Radio coming at you with a challenge. Just like the title says post your successful attempts of a Vertical Take Off and Landing Single-Stage To Orbit (or VTOL SSTO) in this thread. Requirements Take off vertically Reach a stable orbit around Kerbin Land vertically Complete all three task without ejecting any piece of the ship *Bonus* Add a docking port for a rendezvous *Bonus* Complete the challenge with a spaceplane That's it, the rest is up to you to figure out. Winners will be added to the Victors List. Victors Bothersome Scoundrel bsalis magnemoe Darren9 AeroQC buzz66boy

Star Wars: Tie Fighter (in orbit around kerbin)

It seems to be a very crude Millennium Falcon.
