I stumbled upon KSP while reading a "List of games you want your kids to play as a parent". It was back at 0.3 something iirc, was love on first sight. YFW I don't even have kids!

you are propably right with this, sadly, I didn't pay too much attention to the speed. Well, if the situation occures again, I'll make sure to take notes of my speed and try it again, but yes, I guess we can be relatively sure that this is not implemented into the game.

ok, so I am a total noob when it comes to the sciency stuff behind KSP, but on one of my last flights, I had some spare fuel while returning to kerbin, and when my ship started turning into a fireball, I thought to myself "Why not burn the fuel while reentering", and it did indeed help. While my engine was running, the flames got almost to a non existing state, when I throttled down, they came back, so I guess you can say that your rockets exhaust can be used to reduce the heat on reentering atmosphere.

wow, nice one OP, I build a copy of it, and this works like a charm. It's easy as pie to get to a 100km orbit, and technically, I end up with enough fuel to return, only sad thing is that this thing blows up from reentry heat, need to fiddle around with it a bit more. but really, really nice, just strap on some docking ports for refueling, and this thing can go who knows where

am on my first career mode in 1.x, havent played for month, got my first science probe to the mun... realized I forgot a communotron, and didn't put any parachutes on it for return... I am honstely thinking about sending a kerbal there to gather all this science personally....

Very first thing I have build in .23 was a SSTO to check on all that fuss about the new engine... well, it works very fine, literally just strapped an engine on a fuel tank with wings and a cockpit and jeb made it up to a perfectly round 80km orbit with enough fuel for a mun visite, prolly not including a landing though.

I would go multiplatform to bring it to as many people as possible, to do this, the game needs to be a bit simplified, but I am sure that would be no biggy since overall, multiplatforming always enhances the fun, right guys? RIGHT? Tweaking down the graphics a bit, reducing the available parts, maybe going from 3d to 2d, everything needed so mobiles can handle it aswell! Oh, and let's add jedi, the kids LOVE jedi!

How can i rescue my spaceship from orbit?
bogpad replied to 12padams's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
In case you are not a docking/rendezvous pro, the first thing I would try before I bother with building another ship to fetch it somehow is getting a kerbal out at apoapsis (if it is manned that is) and use his rcs to slow down until your periapsis gets within kerbins atmosphere, since you can recharge the rcs fuel in his backpack by just reentering the ship, it might take a while, but should work just fine. -
I actually had more successfull mun landings on the new surface than the old one, and especially with the new landing legs, I don't have any problems at all. Even when I come down on a slippery slope. Still, landing on minmus is easyer, but it already was compared to the old mun aswell, I mean, you don't even have to have a lander to land on minmus, as long as it has an engine, you can land it there (but I guess for a good player, that also counts for the mun, not for me though). It is another thing for rovers though, rovers and the new mun don't really go well together imo :/

I did mission 5 and 6 in my careermode today. Mission 5 was getting a probe in mun orbit, but I used a very bad lifter design, and ended up crashing into the mun instead of orbiting, valuable data was gotten anyway! Mission six was planned to bring a probe into minmus orbit, I redesigned my lifter and made it there with no problem, and since I had a ton of fuel left, I landed the probe on minmus, though it wasn't really designed for that. It still has a lot of fuel, so now I am thinking of bringing it to mun, so it can do what mission 5 was supposed to achieve. Mission 7 will get Jeb on the mun, or Minmus. Lander is gtg, still working on a new lifter design.

Am I the only one who doesnt care for Career mode?
bogpad replied to 99TheCreator's topic in KSP1 Discussion
i always was one of the "pfff, who needs career mode anyway? I am already bad enough in sandbox!" kinds of people, but after seeing the few things about it that will come with the next patch, I am wetting my pants to finally be able to play that mode! -
no commentary on your vids eh? a shame, else I would be 2016.

will this fly?

for a long time I would have said "My first mun landing" to answer this question, but nowadays, I must say, the first time I managed to dock two ships in LKO was a moment that felt so damn good like non I have ever experienced in a video game.

and another one...
