  1. Planet surface modules: - Habitat - Mining - Kethane refinery - Communications - Fuel/RCS storage - Science - Electric generator - Battery/Electric storage Hope that gives you some ideas
  2. An afternoon + evening, not sure how much time that is but I did all 4 tutorials and built a few rockets. I bought the game late in the evening.
  3. After a video from Hatfilms (a bunch of Brits on youtube I'm subbed to) I decided to try the KSP demo and I liked it enough to end up buy the full game. I did hear about KSP before that though, but I never heard anyone super excited about it so I never really got interested enough to seriously check it out. I also think KSP has a bit of a "fantastic gameplay, with not super inviting graphics" factor. Not that KSP looks really bad, but the planets simply aren't "omg, those are gorgeous, what is that game?!". But that's just my opinion though and I do realize that on the scale of KSP it's not really feasible to have amazingly superb graphics at every level of detail (or at least not with a huge amount of man hours).
  4. I didn't learn too much practical stuff from him. I got that from other youtubers I got to via google, I can't say they're better than he is though, but by the time I discovered him I knew a lot of stuff already. He does make me laugh from time to time though and I do enjoy watching his Reusable space program.
  5. They are stock parts, you find them under the science tab, they're among the first 2 parts I think xD They only show the retracted state though in the parts browser (just like solar panels appear in their folded up state in the parts browser).
  6. Hi everyone, I'm pretty new to KSP and I want to try out MechJeb as I've heard it can help make things a bit easier. Now I've installed everything the way it should (the .dll is in the Plugins folder and the MechJeb2_AR202 folder is in the Parts folder). I can see the module in the "Control" tab when I'm building a ship, so I put that on my ship. Then I proceed to the launch and I'm expecting to see a window or something on the right side of the screen, but there's nothing. I'm new to this stuff so am I missing something here? Like do I need to install any other stuff to get MechJeb to work? The part seems to be in the game the way it should, but the windows aren't there. I've also checked the Alt-F2 debug window and I see nothing special there (no errors or anything like that). Again I'm new, so I'm sorry if this is a common newbie question/mistake. I couldn't find anything on it though (only more people with the same question that got no answer either). Edit: Well it appears to be working now. I'm not sure what I did to fix it, but I believe it was some security software that was interfering with KSP (I set KSP to run as admin and I made sure it was set to "trusted program" in my anti-virus to make sure it doesn't get "sandboxed"). Though I've also tried other things between yesterday and now which might also have helped (I made a fresh install, installed MechJeb into the GameData folder instead of the separate Parts and Plugins folders, etc.). tl;dr: I solved my issue, even though I don't know exactly how I did it.
  7. Designing definitely is my favorite. Though I also love blasting it to space and just seeing my creation majestically floating through space. So far docking is proving a bit too hard for me to really enjoy, but I'm just getting the hang of it so maybe in the future I'll enjoy it more
  8. Nope I can't. I did get the stock one in orbit once though, but imo it was way too much trouble compared to a rocket (as a new player that part is hard enough as it is xD). I'll probably try it again in the future though, I really like the idea of a space plane.
