¯\_( ・É・)_/¯ I just smashed a bunch of stuff unto some unfinished designs of mine. -

I accidentaly made a new series called the Softshell. Decided to call the beta ship for the Clam, not sure if i should release any images yet. Sort of medium armored ship. -

(copied from my Riki Tech Tumblr) Riki Tech is proud to present the RT Hardshell Baby Turtle, my third Hardshell craft (as the tortoise is still in dev). While it is not the most fuel efficient craft, it is still quite resilient and fast. It was originally going to be released with the Tortoise as it requires the supplies of another ship to function in long battles, but due to technically difficulties with the Tortoise, the Baby turtle is going to be released first. Comes eqipped with the Hardshell armor and 4 Brunch Torpedoes. The Baby Turtle without the armor. Ascent Stage Note: Ascent stage tends to spin slightly. Baby Turtle fully deployed. Ship Name: RT Hardshell Baby Turtle Company: Riki Tech Allegiance: Riki Tech Mercenary Department Armor: Heavy (outer) Medium (Inner) Weapons: 4 Brunch torpedoes. Suicide ramming (The drone is expendable) Size: Small Engines: 1 Toroidal Aero Spike, 2 Ion engines Part Count (No addons): 121 (95 with no ammo) Part Count (With ascent): 157 Special Features: Riki Tech Hardshell Armor, Very fast, Fits with most other Hangar and space carriers. Craft Files: Baby Turtle with ascent stage. http://www./?bopovijem29ze11 Baby Turtle with no ascent stage. http://www./?je37e5787w6r571 Action group manual: http://www./?95t6c1c5m65zizw The Riki Tech Hardshell Baby Turtle was built to minimize casualties during dog fighting by replacing the pilot with a drone. Please give your feedback and reports on the craft for further improvement! Proof of orbit abilities: The camera kerbal forgot to recharge his camera and therefore no pictures of the proof of orbit abilities are available, though Riki Tech gives you my word that it can do it with no problem. -

While building the RT Hardshell Baby Turtle, i thought of an idea on how to get the Tortoise in space. Time to build it in space! -

Another problem is, the launch stage tends to randomly break apart in some points unless it flies painfully slow, meaning that flying it will not only be laggy as heck, but also very difficult. I think i am just going to set the Tortoise a side and work on the baby turtle drones that was meant to go with it. -

So i have to deem the Tortoise impossible for me to get up into space due to computer limitations. I can not put enough parts on it without the game crashing. -

Work on the Tortoise may have to be suspended until i get home from vacation, laptop doesn't like the immense lag. -

Getting the Tortoise to space is more complicated than i thought. so far no success -

50% because i like making extremely weird and durable ships regardless of size and purpose, 50% because it looks awesome and it was a nice challenge. -

Point taken. might do a door system on another craft in the future. -

It is certainly not meant for direct combat, though it can work as a great shield still. And a door sustem is always a quite fancy thing to have against unwanted suicide drones. All posted crafts are proud dedicated ships. Feedback is always welcome. -

I am actually working on a door for the Tortoise that uses the two RCS drones inside the hangar. The whole reason for the front entrance was sadly due to my wish to not go too far with the part count. You can still just shift the ship so it points downwards or to the side for maximum protection though. Also, parts can be replaced thanks to the modular design incase a heavy rocket comes in. Small torpedoes does little to no damage due to the internal armor platings. -

If i did not want them to be used, I wouldn't have added a craft file ^^ the Tortoise is still unavailable until i have made tests and fine tunings. The turtle is still available though -

hmm maybe if you can find a role for it and then adapt the early design to the given role? -

Thanks for telling me the TWR! Here is the Fuel stats for the Tortoise as of now. Electric Charge: 4545 Liquid Fuel: 6840 Oxidizer: 8360 Mono Propellant: 1980 Xenon Gas: 9800 The Ion engines are useful in case that the tortoise runs out of Liquid fuel. while not powerful, they can still enable the ship to maneuver around (very slowly) -

Well since it is a drone, it can just be used for ramming when it is out of ammo, there is not emergency system for it as it does not contain live kerbals, it still has the Hardshell armor that can be swapped out if it is damaged, as well as a frontal plate with a docking port for weapons that can be changed in case of damage. tbh, it is quite adorable to look at as it is so darn small. -

The next Hardshell ship will be a small drone fighter called the Baby turtle. Super small and compact and heavily armored, it is still going through redesigns so it can fit the Tortoise once it is done. -

Not that much, about just as much as having the full Turtle w/ ascent standing. I fear my comp will blow up when i design the ascent stage for it. -

Made so that the parts can be changed. Technically, if you eject the Hardshell armor, all the front pointing docking ports can become ports for weapon usage, converting it to a heavily armed ship. -

as long it uses stock parts only, then i guess it is allowed. sounds interesting. -

Thor Class: Mjölnir As an asian living in Denmark, i find the name and class quite fitting as the missiles will do short work of most armor. pummeling them to pieces like how Thor's hammer would. -

Thank you. If i can get it up into orbit, the silhouette will be cooler.
