  1. I haven't seen it crop up but in one mod before, and honestly, if I remember correctly, they just made the air intake resource convertible into a RCS fuel specific to that RCS block. Might have even been automatically done.
  2. So, just checked the suggestions.txt again, and I'm surprised that there isn't these 'chevos: Deep Impact: Send a class E Asteroid into the KSC Colony Drop: Crash a vessel with over 50 kerbals with a dry mass of over 1000 tons(or something about 10 times as massive as a normal space station, haven't really thought that hard on this) into a atmosphere and lose every kerbal in the crash Go big or...: Successfully grab a Class E Asteroid and give it a stable orbit around kerbin Go Home!: Successfully land a ship carrying a Class E Asteroid on Kerbin Bottle it up, save some for later!: Launch a ship from Kerbin with a Type E Asteroid in tow. This all assumes that Type E asteroids are the largest, I may have imagined them, just make sure they are all the biggest ones. Oh, and if possible: Apollo Style!: Land a vessel on the Mun or Minmus using solely IVA view the whole trip.
  3. It kinda does to me, though. Armor plating? Material sciences/construction changes. Guns? Basic ones early, later ones in space plane sections(avionics etc etc). Bombs? Rocket upgrades. CIWS style weapons? A.I. stuff. Missiles? Somewhere between drones and rocket upgrades.
  4. Can we expect tech tree support sometime soon, though?
  5. Just a thought, but why not add anchors or landing gear? If it's falling over, then adding stability stuff would help. No wait, got a better look at it, it drags stuff, right? If so, the issue is that the wheels are to close to the hull. Send them out a bit and it should be more stable. Wider base and all that. Could use IR to extend the wheels when you need to pull stuff with landing legs to send it up first.
  6. Funny, I just told a guy my thoughts about this IRL. People Never forget that Evolution is a Theory. But they forget that all they can come up with is a Hypothesis. They always forget that there is such a thing as a Hypothesis and that they are distinct from Theories and vastly less accepted, let alone proven or even researched. But yes, Evolution is just a Theory. Just like Gravity, all known Elements, Nuclear Fission(and Fusion), Gunpowder weaponry, and DNA. Oh, and Bacon.
  7. I once left Kerbol's SoI with just SRBs. Then I stopped playing the demo.
  8. Yeah, that was my main issue with all the complaints about the level, Recoil issues aren't an issue if your EVA suit is linked to your firearm so that the recoil is canceled out. You wouldn't even need to put it on for CoM to do this(though it would be ideal). Normal Tracer rounds wouldn't work, but LED ones would. Normal gunpowder based firearms wouldn't work, but an electro-chemcial one would work better, and one that uses liquid fuel would allow you to use normal rocket LFO in theory(heck, even Monopropellent would work if it was powerful enough). I haven't seen much of the trailer or gameplay of the level, but most people are attacking the weak spots and ignoring the fact that these "weak spots" are easy to patch up with modern tech. The real issue isn't the physics of the level, or why you bring a soldier with no EVA suit training, or any of that. It's why do you have this weapon up there at all? It's not cost efficient at all, and with what we know about the MW series, is there a legitimate reason why they aren't using nuclear weapons instead of telephone poles made of wolfram? I mean, they have used chemical weapons, and nuclear weapons before, why would they obey the treaty that prevents them from weaponizing space with WMDs if they still use WMDs which are just as illegal?(according to the Geneva Convention, anyway)
  9. How could posting info about how much "stuff" a vessel can carry be harmful to you? Not posting Payload info harms the user of your ship since they don't know much much it can lift, and thus they run the risk of crashing or running out of fuel in space.
  10. Pirated Weaponry(Not yet updated) or InfiniteDice's Naval Warfare(not yet released) are mods that might interest you if you want a "Huge Weapon Mod". Also Lazor Weaponry.
  11. Looks cool. Dubious tactical value. Also, how do you reload it? Plus, once InfiniteDice finally releases his Naval Warfare stuff, those "Gravitas" will fall like wheat before the scythe that is a single CIWS, even if you fired them all at it perfectly with less then a second between launches. Then all one has to do is aim a 20" gun at your "Tank" and watch it weep. Not that it's needed to wait that long. Just use a Sub and a missile from the sub, and your "Gravitas" will look as useless as they actually are. Stock Weapons can't compete against even a basic modded weapon(such as this Gatling Gun), aside from looking cool.
  12. We have idiots willing to do stupid/suicidal tasks that your people know better then to do. We can offer a different PoV on things, and we would make great space war cannon fodder. We have our own culture(well, a bunch of them), weird stories, odd music, and bizarre forms of art. We also make our own types of food here, and that might interest people.

There is of course one scientific tidbit that bugs me, or rather how often people say it's impossible, and that's Warp Drives. More Specifically the Alcubierre Drive. I could go nuts and spew my thoughts on the matter all over this thread, but that would be awkward and would likely get people in trouble for replying Tl;Dr. Simply put, it's possible, we just need to generate this "exotic matter" that has negative mass(or something), which isn't even impossible according to at least two scientists. One of them is a bit of a nutball, honestly. His name is Michio Kaku and he believes in STRING THEORY! Well, okay, that's not that bad, actually, it's weird but I don't get it. According to the Youtube Comment Section however, he is INSANE! But that's the Youtube Comment Section, so it's not fair to them to pay attention to pretty much anything said there or take it at face value. Also there this guy called NASA seems to believe in this stuff. Wait. No, sorry, a Group called NASA. They're doing research on this stuff. Maybe you've heard of them? And yes, Clarke's first law is very important here. I mean, just 'cause one guy says that E=MC2 doesn't mean he knows EVERYTHING! Plus he didn't believe Quantum Physics was going to go anywhere(called it names to boot), and here we are talking about the Alcubierre Drive which needs Quantum Physics to talk about. Also Quantum Physics is a big deal these days. Go figure. I could post links to dozens of things to help my case, but basically, all people need to see me post is this youtube video: http://youtu.be/ctjbE_zcurg. Anyway, I'll give back the soapbox, guys. Cheers.
  14. Sorry, lost track of the thread. I'll be blunt; for you, that is school and the person yelling at you is a teacher. For me(and every last person in here who is an adult), this is not five days a week, but seven, not 6 am, usually 5 if you commute at all, and it's not your teacher, but your boss who you can't get away with responding in kind to. Or if you work in the service industry, occasionally customers as well. If you work as a staff scheduler for basically any company, that's most of the people you have to talk to. If you are a dispatcher of any kind, that's again, pretty much everyone you give work to. If you, godforbid, are a scheduler for, say, in home health care, that's not only your people you give work to, but basically everyone you are sending them to see. I wish I was exaggerating. But if you thought your teacher hated you, wait til you have a job and things to pay for. It'll either land you in jail or smarten you up to the fact that despite the fact that some people are only alive because it's illegal to kill them, pretty much everyone who isn't a close friend of yours would kill you if they could get away with it and not have to cover it up at all. Welcome to dealing with people you don't like. It sucks. You have to do it. I still have trouble with it. But nothing save for possibly suicide would rid you of the having to deal with people issue. And lets not waste our breath here. If you aren't an adult, you generally aren't going to be able to get the stuff needed to relatively painlessly off yourself. The best kids seem to know is wrists and sharp stuff. I pity the poor souls who cut their wrists. They have no clue what they are doing and it's so sad it's almost funny. I know I shouldn't make light of teen depression seeing as I am well aware how serious and all but ignored youth mental health issues are, but I just shake my head a chuckle a somewhat sad chuckle, much like I suppose the Joker would laugh if he did in "What Ever Happened To The Dark Avenger?" comic. It's somewhat funny, but you can't pull it fully out of the sadness.
  15. I'm not too keen on deleting stock bits, even IVAs. Thankfully I have cut it down to roughly 1.8 gigs. I do still have to add like, what, a extra 500 mB for one craft, but I know I can make it all work... Even if that means removing IVAs for a bit. ...Now to choke through 99 mBs at 85 kB/s for half of the issue and hope it doesn't crash again. Man the Internet here sucks.
  16. I only have to get KW, honestly. Wait, no, add Procedural Tanks and Spherical Tanks to that list. I don't recall a procedural tanks mod being released, unless you mean Stretchy Tanks, in which case scratch that from the list of mods I need. Besides, Spherical Tanks is normally in my LO and KW isn't as bad anymore IIRC. I still might have to ditch a lot of farings from it, but we'll see. Seriously, looks fun and I'll be learning quickly. Hopefully quickly enough to show off my own design. I plan on making a SSTO with interplanetary capability. Might end up using Warp Drives to test them out, but we'll see. EDIT: Oh, right, does she use FAR? I recently downloaded it in anticipation of removing Mission Controller from my setup again.
  17. School sucks, we all know that. After all, we all went to school. The point is it sucks less then being in the work force. Yes, your teachers hate you, yes, the food is barely better then US prison food, yes, you feel like you're learning nothing. I didn't suffer from any of those for some odd reason but constantly heard it from my class mates and friends. I can easily see that school was awesome. I knew people and they didn't hate me. I could count on a steady lunch and summer was a time to kick back and swim. I didn't have to pay for my clothes or even the nicer things like hats or computers, or a new bike every year(long story). I lived it up and enjoyed my youth, and I look back on those days and wish I could relieve them. That is, between thoughts of throttling my younger self for being a idiot or being stupid. Sad fact? I haven't even been out of school that long. Those days were basically yesterday to me. And here I am acting like a bitter old jaded adult longing for the simple times. Truth be told, my high school days were the best days of my life so far. Anyway, that's enough rambling from me. I have things to do. Meetings. Tea parties. Buying clothes(and a new laptop). Enjoying a stiff drink with my family. Gazing longingly into my rum and coke. Building Space Planes and trying to get KSP to not crash. Possibly looking at porn, or reading Homestuck. Sometimes both at the same time. Or looking at fanart for Homestuck and wondering why the Homestuck fandom is always making porn of their ships. Or maybe, if things go well, sitting in a comfy chair with my family enjoying a Irish Coffee whist looking at porn and thinking up new Space Plane layouts after getting caught up in Homestuck. Life is still enjoyable. But I miss knowing people who don't hate me and the stable lunches. Well, that and not needing to understand budgeting and going out to buy stuff with money that I'm stretching very thin.
  18. What is the rough "Safe" game data folder size these days? I know .21 made it less then the 4gigs it was at before. I'm crashing a lot so I'm trying to cut out just enough mods that I'm fine. Ideally not ones I really like or use a lot, but small, useless bits like more farings and whatnot.
  19. Honestly, if I made my own mod before the day comes that Squad says what license I have to use for my works I'd use the WTFPL for my works. Think GPL is free with it's usage? Check this out.
  20. I'm a firm believer in the theory that "Any landing you can walk away from was not a crash landing". So I'm willing to have ships all but destroyed as long as the crew survives. That being said, I firmly believe in sending unmanned missions as often as possible as to avoid "military training accidents", aka "stuff blew up people died oh god why it wasn't my fault". I also make sure every ship I launch is safe and stable enough by testing it unmanned first(I always have drone control parts on my ships, good ol' trusty A.I.s). I also don't skimp on safety precautions, so on manned missions I have a escape stage with ample dV to get to a safe location, or at least away from the explosions and death. Also think it's a smart idea to not have more crew capacity on a space station there there are escape pods. But other then not wanting my Kerbals to die, I play fast and loose with ships. Lot of explosions in my game, usually failed missions self destructing, but occasionally missile strikes.
  21. I crashed repeatedly and swore a lot. Other then that? Mostly tried making VTOL space planes using SM Ducted Fan VTOL engines. Thinking of ditching that idea soon, honestly. I can never tell which way the fan goes, and I rarely get anywhere with them. Either my planes are too heavy or I always put them on upside-down. May just use IR and make a more effective VTOL by using Pulse Detonation engines. Or maybe just use SABER engines for the hell of it. They always seem useful. I plan on setting up a space station some day soon, but unless the game stops crashing so much, I know it's a pipe dream. I'll at least be getting a new computer today, so maybe it'll work much better.
  22. BahamutoD, that's a awesome looking ship. The folding wings sell me on it, though. Mind sharing the craft file so I can check out the wings/try it out?
  23. So, I was minding my own, sending ships places with magic and pixie dust powered engines, and I was thinking of sending a atmo-scoop to Jool for the hell of it. Then it dawned on me. Jool is green. Kethane is green(apparently). Why not make a upgraded version of the Atmo-scoop that can scoop some Kethane from Jool's atmosphere? Not a lot, but enough that it'd be worth doing instead of using the Kerbal eater thingy.
  24. Looks wonderful, Devo. My mind is however fixating on the possibly impending update for the ALIENS dropship update; turrets with Lazor mod targeting? Sounds awesome. I couldn't get it to launch last I used it, though. Mostly because the dropship door was down and it exploded when the physics loaded.
