people say theres helium 3 on the moon, so if you bring some sort of mining equipment and refinery you can create fuel for reuseable fusion engines. helium 3 can also be used in fusionreactors on the moon to power the base on the moon. if you send enough modules to the moon you'll most likely manage to power stuff and refuel spacecrafts in lunar orbit for longer journeys to other planets.
