  1. Good, I'm not the only one who tripped over this. A generator might be an interesting addon... not sure if that's cannon (not a space exploration history major) but something that can burn a bit of jet fuel in exchange for power. On my low mun orbit goo space experiment I had PLENTY of fuel but had to keep results and transmit on my way back to Kerbin. Still a bit of a chore burning long enough for 3 data points on a simple path like that.
  2. Are you running out of battery? Transmission is VERY battery intensive especially on stock batteries. From what I've seen you need the engines running to finish a transmission. Incredibly infuriating.
  3. Crash landed something (Remote Controlled rocket) on Duna. It orbited for a few and then I got bored and burned retrograde. Getting that much fuel into space is tough. I have a two stage right now that can just barely escape the atmosphere of Kerbin on stage 1 out of 2. Also it's turning radius without the engine on is abysmal. Maybe back to the drawing board for a bit.
  4. Put a lander on Minmus today. I think it's time to put something in orbit around Duna. I was really hopeful for ion engines but I have to say they are a little... useless... lol. I guess if you are already on the right track and you have 10 days to perform a correction they are useful. Unless there is a trick to them.
  5. I can hit minmus in a straight shot. Its when I have to start maneuvering off axis that kills the mission. Buzzed Minmus at 50Km up on the final attempt last night. There would have been zero chance of return and rather low chance of survival as the intended trajectory would have been a crash landing (all I could manage after an inefficient burn or two).
  6. Hello all! Relatively new KSP player here. Thought I'd join this forum to give me something to do between crashed ships. Recently I re-purchased the game on Steam and proceeded to build a "stayputnik" which has been up there for a little while on its 100Km circular (within 500m) orbit. A bit off kilter I must admit but it re-familiarized me with the game. From there I built my workhorse ship that can overshoot Minimus and completed a successful Mun landing with it. Keeping control of sideways momentum plagued me for days with that landing. Now I'm deciding between a Minimus landing or doing rover/base work on the Mun. Oh well that's a short history. I'll see y'all around!
