Yeah, I've got the same problem, and using FAR I have to have the control surfaces centered with the wing (and my OCD), so I can't not use angle snap... this is a shame -

Hello fellow Kerbonaughts! I am very interested in aviation and love military applications with aircraft, and love this game because it allows me to create and replicate things that I've wanted to do since I was a child. However, the one thing I haven't managed to achieve yet is air to air refuelling. Granted, it is possible, but time consuming and rather boring. So I decided to set out to make a mod! Air to air refuelling mod! I've had this in mind for a long while now, however due to not having a functioning computer I have not been able to do any of the making for this mod, and this is where I need your help! Modellers, Unity Importers, .cfg file writers, I need you all! I would love to make this mod a reality and I'm sure there are others who would appreciate it as well! So, what ideas are there currently? - Probe Drogue Refuelling System; As you can see here, there are two main parts, the probe, which sits aerodynamically flush until needed, which then when refuelling commences extends out to meet the 'bucket' or drogue, and the drogue, which extends out and meets the probe. I would like to have both these parts animated and working, and can share the little information I know; In the .cfg, under the line "nodeType = size1" the 'size1' part doesn't actually mean size, but size1 is a type, and will only connect to other docking ports with "nodeType = size1"; therefore if the docking nodes on the probe&drogue hade the line "nodeType = airrefuel" they would only connect to eachother. Also, for the drogue, no wire is needed to be modelled, this is intended to be used with KAS (with permission, of course). Future plans? - Boom stick refuelling ( )- Some sort of angled landing gear? That's right, I've always liked a realistic feel to my aircraft, so I though this would be a great way to end all the air to air refuelling fails! However the only point hindering us now is the Unity Import, Unity doesn't work with my current setup and my partner has done enough work so we are stuck for now, however if anyone can help please private message me!

Thanks! There has been some great work from ximrm! Kudos to him! Well I'd rather it was a docking type part, it seems easer and would be a little more real, instead of just 'hitting' the part and connecting it has to be carefully docked, this could also be used with the various docking mods! Yep! Also BahumatoD's Burn Together mod!

[sOON TO BE LUNATIC AEROSPACE] With the help of ximrm we now have the model, I'm soon to be working on the .cfg! Refuel Probe: A aero dynamically slick refuel probe that could be placed and when toggled extends out and acts as a docking port; very small, and a bucket type system that could be added on to a KAS pipe, like so; UPDATE! sumghai, I see what you mean now, I have taken the time to have a look through and see it is a little more then having a model, texture and part.cfg! I will look in depth with this, and get comfortable to a level where I feel comfortable with so I can start this project! Thanks for guiding me in the right direction, it's good to have the help of a known modder! (also, I LOVE your station parts!) Dilin, it is good to know that you are supportive and would love your help as a tester, would I be able to get some sort of contact for you in the (hopefully near) future when I have something to test?

Hey guys, I am sorry to say I've given up on this project for now; I just have no idea what I'm doing. I really wish I could get a hand because I would love to see this in-game. Maybe I'll have a go once I've learned a bit more. Sorry again guys!

Okay, well to be honest I have no idea in terms of modeling, I played about with blender and it really didn't work too well, so, a few questions, if you don't mind? 1. How long will it take to get the skill to model the aircraft pictured above? 2. How long would it take to actually model it? 3. Personal opinion (again, if you don't mind) what do you think of this (very WIP) mod? Thanks

I've messaged the author of the model and I have permission to use. And as for the model, this would take ages to make a eurofighter from scratch! I'm going to texture it myself, so I can get the 'kerbal' feel with it.. And I will look into it, thanks!

Well I have this canard done, except when I load it up in KSP it doesn't show up, I've played about with a stock config and used that but I can't get attachment right... Hi all! Ever since I discovered modding in KSP, I've always loved the idea of adding in real planes to the game! I'm a huge fan of modern day fighter jets, such as the Eurofighter Typhoon, the Tornado GR4, F22 Raptor, and the F35 Lightning. So there for I have set myself a simple challenge; Mod these jets in. I am probably going to need some help; I'm terrible with Blender. I currently have a model which I got online of a Eurofighter Typhoon, my plan is to pull this apart into all the separate pieces of the plane. (wings, intakes, engines, pit, landing gear, etc.) I am going to need help doing this! So please feel free to comment if you are good with Blender, or know how to work a part.cfg file!
