  1. How many people have more than one KSP Folder? I use three. One has Hyper Edit installed The second doesn't (Because the urge to use it is too much when I am playing career mode) And the Third is just a test bed for installing mods and editing.
  2. Thanks. This aircraft can actually get into space and navigate to other planets (Infinite fuel cheat required though)
  3. I created a bi-plane and thought it would be cool to modify it for space operations. Modifications Now time to land on Duna... I got there, didn't I?
  4. Below is a space car I designed. Now do you know how sometimes when you hit the ground too fast or bump into something or another, there may be a small explosion, but the craft itself shows little to no signs of damage? Well this craft was very tough and even when it flips over after spinning out of control, the craft comes out either unscathed or with only minor damage (Like a light breaking off) However, when I added a several extra parts (as shown in the second picture), the craft literally blows up in a chain reaction. If there is one explosion, it will make other parts overheat and explode to the point there is little left of the craft. Any idea what is causing this?
  5. Yes, as it stands now, there is no real difference, but if this idea was implemented, don't you think they'd make it so there was a difference? You have to look at the bigger picture.... like I said, in terms of realism, you should have the option to reuse the craft. Look at it this way, you design a ship (Lets say a shuttle) and save it. Now you make and launch a total of 5 shuttles and you decide to give them the names of real shuttles like Atlantis, Challenger, Discovery and so on. When you land one of the craft back on Kerbin, it would make more sense to reuse it, rather than scrap it, load up another one, and name it Atlantis again. And like I said several times already - it will give the game more depth as craft develop histories and players grow attached to the craft that have seen a lot of service. They might be just a collection of pixels on a computer screen, but people will grow fond of their craft, the same way Warcraft players grow attached to their characters and so on. Having a craft that has seen a lot of service will be more devastating to the player over a craft that is just going to be scraped at the end of its mission.
  6. When NASA's space shuttles landed back on earth, did they scrap them and get a new ones with the money? No, they reused them. By reusing the craft, you can build up history behind it and it becomes more sentimental the the player. You could see how many missions it has flown, what worlds it has visited, etc. Would be more fun to land a craft on Kerbin and prep it for another launch rather then scrapping it.
  7. Currently, once a craft is landed on Kerbin and is recovered, you get funds back into your bank from all the craft's parts. I think the best way to go about this is have a folder in the parts menu where any craft that is recovered will be put there. From there you can select to save it for later use again or scrap it for funds. If you have say a shuttle or a sophisticated lander that gets into space by being attached to rockets, once you land it back to Kerbin there is no way to get it back into space again. Your only option is to scrap it (automatic when you recover it). With the ability to reuse it, you can recover the craft, go to one of the design bays, select the craft and just add more rockets to it for relaunch. You would also require fund to re-fuel the craft and repair any damage before relaunching. With this idea there is also the possibility of giving the craft a service history. Another possibility is the option to 'retire' the craft which will place it in a Museum yard (A new part of the Space Center) along with the option to add a plaque with text. This will give the game more depth, realism and make losing a craft more heartbreaking to the player, especially if it has been in service for a long time.
  8. Get the add on called 'Hyper Edit' and you can make your own scenarios with ease. With Hyper Edit, you can put anything anywhere on the map, including moving all the planets. You can also change the gravity of the planets as well.
  9. That is where I got the idea. I have that book (somewhere) and after seeing how the big space ship soft landed on the surface on Moho, it reminded me of the pictures in the book and gave me the idea to take screenshots of some of my wrecks and abandoned craft.
  10. The 'Moretz' Class Vessels (named after the popular Actress) were the first of trillium powered starships capable of reaching any planet in the solar system and back home before needing to be refueled. Built in orbit in three stages, they class was not designed for atmospheric landing and takeoff - they were capable of carrying up to three smaller craft for planetary landings. The class was also equipped with four outer docking rings to allow the transfer of crew and fuel via shuttle/tankers. Though they sturdy and capable craft, the class tended to wobble at max speeds. This was due to an imbalance of its engines during fabrication. Despite this flaw, five Moretz Class Starships were built and were were instrumental establishing the first colonies beyond Duna. Before being retired, three of the five ships of the class were lost due to the before mentioned flaw in their design. Two exploded while in transit with the loss of all hands. Another was severely damaged when one of its engine nacelles tore away while maneuvering into low orbit around Moho. Unable to stabilize the ship, the crew was able to slow the vessel at it descended helplessly towards Moho's surface. Despite severe damage upon landing, the crew survived. To this day, the ship rest eerily on the planet's surface - a solemn reminder of the hazard of space exploration. Strewn across the surface of Duna, A few battered pieces is all that remain of this experimental craft. Having lost an engine, this trillium powered shuttle drifts slowly out of the Solar System into interstellar space, its pilot our of reach and beyond any hope of rescue.
  11. Just like how today's probes fly by planets and snap pictures to transmit back to earth, I think cameras would be a great idea for KSP. Camera parts would of course be in the science tab and when used on missions, it rewards science points. They'd be most useful in the earlier stages of a career, where you don't have the necessary resources to send manned missions to other worlds and have to rely on probes/rovers to get to Duna and so on.
