  1. Here's my entry. Hope you like it!
  2. I introduce to you, SQEAK-E (Service Quad for Electronic Automation and Kinematics - Earth-class)
  3. KSP seems to be have a "bigger is better" mentality. The tech tree doesn't make much sense. Humans didn't have to choose between having planes, a man in space, a piece of metal in space or doing science in space. I'm considering just getting a ....-ton of mods.
  4. Do you know if this would work with the Oculus Rift using vorpX? I don't own an Oculus Rift, but I think something like this would be in high demand. If it does, you should mention it in the description.
  5. (alteration of an idea I posted a while back) Part 1: 15 minutes to design a ship that drops a rover on Minimus (should probably have a Kerbal or two on it) Part 2: Land the rover on Minimus (quicksave) Part 3: 15 minutes to get the most airtime by going off a hill and landing cleanly on wheels. No propellant allowed in air. Bonus for tricks?
  6. Launch Pad Challenge: make a stock parts "launch pad" with a rocket attached to it. Launch your launch pad and rocket and land the launch pad on a different continent. Then you must re-launch from your new launch pad and get into a stable orbit. First one to do so wins.
  7. Sort of taken from a different challenge, but with a twist. First one to get a full orange tank into orbit without using a single strut (your choice if quicksaves are allowed).
  8. Land a rocket-powered vehicle on Minimus (beforehand) and see who can do the longest Dukes of Hazzard jump (duration might be easier to measure). You can only use rockets while on the surface (or reasonably close to it).
  9. Can get into low orbit (with some difficulty ) and land on nearby planets and return (in progress).
  10. Finally got my standard inter-planetary rocket into orbit! (took some design tweaking and quite a few attempts though...) On my way to Dres!
  11. ****, I tried one that I was sure would get a lot of G's, it only got 5.
  12. Sixty Symbols on Youtube has a good video about it.
  13. You can't really talk about ferromagnetism the same way as gravity because you can't have a monopole. The metal sphere would be pulled more strongly to the poles than to the equator, so the orbit wouldn't just be elliptical, it might be peanut shaped. But I think it's doable, probably not stable though.
  14. I don't think anyone here realizes how much energy you'd need to change the earth's orbit. Just watch Scott Manley's video. The world's most powerful earthquakes have only changed the length of a day by less than 2 millionths of a second. The largest recorded earthquake was 2.7 gigatons while the largest nuclear test, Castle Bravo, was 15 megatons, you would need 180 of those.
  15. I think it's F1, but your computer probably has its own screenshot hotkey (acts as a "copy" so you can paste it into paint)
  16. Post your awesome pics here or get inspiration for future designs. Stock only please.
  17. Just because the mega rover wheels were there. Houses 11 Kerbinauts.
