So I recently ran into this problem: I was landing a rover on the mun.. somehow I had waaay to much fuel left, so I decided to land the hole transfer stage, separate the actual landing stage and then land that somewhere else. The transfer stage is now pretty much debris. Since it does not have its own power supply, it doesn't have any electrical charge left. Now I can't change the type of it to debris and call it anything different than "-insert vessel name here- probe". Btw the transfer stage does have its own probe core. I want to be able to change the name and vessel type regardless of the electrical charge of the vessel. Also I want to be able to do exactly that from the tracking station. I mean, if I were to give my TV a name, it wouldn't have to be on for me to do that, would it?

I'm sorry for it has already been posted, but I just had to get it out of me And also, I added a couple of original ideas, so don't suggested-list' me I'm really more of a casual player, so I totally wasn't thinking about all the trash, refuse, junk, waste, rubbish and garbage that would be sucked out into space then.. And don't forget the snacks ! hmmm.. Since the doors all have the same shape in most cases, you could have them slide out and lock in place to create an inflatable plastic duct behind them, suggesting that would be the air lock. http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/51627000/jpg/_51627854_leonov282-.jpg Is this what you meant? Well, they might as well just put their suits on, open the damn door and shoot into outer space uncontrollably and hystericaly sreaming At the end of the day, they're still Kerbals

Simple Idea... First person perspective when running or floating around as a Kerbal. toggled by pressing C just like in normal flight mode.. And it would be nice, if you were still in first person, when entering or leaving a vessel.. Btw, when you're in a vessel, looking at the door (or where the door would be if you can't) would bring up: "[F] to exit vessel" or whatever key you assign it to. MAYBE, and that would be fu'ing AWESOME is a little animation, when entering or leaving a vessel. That animation may be visible from either first or third person perspective !! Also.. pleaaaaase: Little animations, when repacking parachutes or repairing wheels? (Or all damaged parts as introduced in on of my previous suggestions: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/42727-damage-system-overhaul-Kerbal-classes?highlight=damage) Just the Kerbal hitting it with a wrench like a maniac or something could imagine that pretty funny as well as fitting into the game. That would give the game a serious amount of immersion and character as well as a lot of fun for the "OMG interior view !!!"- kind of players like me.

Exactly, that's what I mean. And also you don't have to restart your mission, since you can repair anything and minimize the damage taken. For instance, your cockpit gets hit. Option one: It falls off... well yeah. Option two: No SAS; reaction wheels are broken; loss of electrical charge; exit obstructed. All until someone repairs it, which also costs you electrical charge. I'd prefer option two

I see your problem, the thing with the unrepairable damage would be an issue.. But when you have probes and they collide with something, instead of losing the parts AND shifting the centre of mass, those parts would just be broken. You can't repair something that is no longer attached to your vessel, that is, if the part just fell off. And if you really really want to repair something, send a kerbal up there.

Would it be possible to change the "damage system" (if you can call it one) in a way that parts don't just pop off, when hit by others or the ground? For example: Gas tanks get cracks or dents and leak fuel. Probe cores don't function anymore. Engines don't work or can't be stopped or start burning until they explode or overheat a lot quicker. Solar panels get stuck in their position and/or produce less power. Lander legs get stuck in their position and/or are bent all over the place. Lights don't work. Decouplers get stuck or fire at the crash. Wings would get bent a lot. Flaps would come loose/out of control or stuck in their position. Fuel lines would brake and leak fuel. These are just some ideas I came up with, but you get the idea. In fact, post your own ideas please! I think it would be a lot nicer if the ship did not just fall apart and every piece was fine on its own, but the ship would be genuinely damaged but still in one piece, so you could see the damage. And also certain Kerbals would be able to repair some of that damage. There would be different classes of Kerbals (Story mode just got a lot more interresting): Mechanics (can repair stuff), pilots (can fly stuff), doctors (can heal stuff) and so on Post your ideas! Excuse my grammar mistakes if there are any, I'm German

Well, I guess the title is kinda self-explanatory. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to reset your action groups and reassign them midflight? Especially when you're building space stations, you can very easily mix up your action groups and happen to have one of your precious escape pods shoot off when all you ment to do was to extract your solar panels.
