Texturing Help. :(
Fleskhjerta14577 replied to SmashingKirby148's topic in KSP1 Modelling and Texturing Discussion
Try using Smart UV Project to unwrap it and then try (using normal unwrap can be annoying sometimes), and if the problem persists upload the .blend and the messed up texture somewhere so we can try to help. Disclaimer: I suck at texturing. Take this with a mountain of salt. -
I added a link to the dropbox files. The texture is on the material inside of intertank_final, I can't add it directly to the mesh. - - - Updated - - - So apparently setting the texture format to tga and exporting it then makes it work. But now it won't let me use DDS, and I can't save the texture as MBM (paint.net won't let me). At least it works now, but I'm still trying to figure out getting DDS to work ;-;

Hi. Recently I started work on a small mod, based off the DIRECT v2 concept. Currently, I have a few parts in game, such as an inline external tank, a structural adapter, RS68, and 1.875m SRB. None of these are textured, and just concepts to see if my idea works. A little while ago I decided to make the ET modular, and actually texture it. However, once I added the texture, it will not show up in the parts list. Exporting it from Unity with no texture, it loads fine. I have no idea what's happening here. Screenshots below. Hai, just got back from Camp Ottari over here in Virginia. Currently a Life Scout, working on Eagle, and also the SPL of Troop 2860 (Chesterfield, VA). Will check how many MBs I have in the morning.. too tired to brain currently.

[1.1.2] Realism Overhaul v11.0.0 May 8
Fleskhjerta14577 replied to Felger's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Er, I don't know if I'm an idiot or anything, but how do you use Component Space Shuttle in this? I installed it earlier today, and it has the normal stock sizes, and is incompatible with RO (as it says in the description of the parts). Is there any special way to install it? Or is this just a bug? There's no errors in the log (that relate to CSS or RO). Just somewhat annoying. -
[0.90] Kerbin Shuttle Orbiter System v4.13
Fleskhjerta14577 replied to helldiver's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Anyone else having landing gear issues? Mine just doesn't retract, it starts extended and stays extended, no right click menu either. -
ScanSAT crashed into Duna because I forgot I had RemoteTech. Ugh. Does it still count as a mission? I did it, but then lost connection to it. Also, I lost connection to SpaceStationOne, and I can't open the only docking port available on the station, a shielded docking port. Why, RemoteTech.. why. I have at least 30 long range antennas on the station, it's in perfect view of KSC, and I still can't control it. It has full power as well. The Korion MPCV is literally just orbiting 30 meters from it, waiting until I can open it. TAC Life Support is also in play, so I have to either dock them soon or bring them back down, otherwise they'll run out of supplies. Why is this so complicated.. D:

Finished a space station today, tomorrow's goal is to send a ScanSAT to Duna.

I don't understand the whole discussion about 64 bit either -- mine was perfectly fine (except for mods that are disabled on Win64 for some reason), but then my heat vent decided to die.. I'm going to use the OpenGL function for sure, also. But now, because of 0.90 (70 version jump much?) I have to remake lifters, SSTOs, transfer stages, saves, everything.. welp. This challenge is going to be fun.

Well, generally I'm going to be making a weekly (maybe monthly, haven't decided yet) video about my progress. So I almost have the same case, but it's weekly (or monthly). Also, motherboard went? I've had that happen before. Strangest part is, like yours, it just.. died. No reason whatsoever. Also, the second bolded part.. I actually still need to install KSP, on this new laptop I don't have it yet.. that might be a problem. Worst thing about this laptop? 4GB ram. 4. I probably can't even run many mods with that.. ugh. Good luck with your motherboard, though. Progress Update: I am beginning the framework of my new install with basic essentials.. stuff like Docking Alignment, KW, KEngineer, Kethane, Interstellar, HorizontalSpaceBases, KSOS, and a few other mods that I forgot. No Mechjeb though!

CP-1 Custom Command Pod (DIY Sim Pit)
Fleskhjerta14577 replied to ThereIs0nly0ne's topic in KSP Fan Works
Nice! Always have wanted to make something like this, never got around to it.. -
Well I bid you luck in your efforts alongside me and if your cooling fans fail you, I'll be streaming on Fridays. I'm looking to do one last trial run on December 19th as per my planned schedule (Fridays at 2PM EST) before my special Thursday January 1 kickoff stream event.Thanks.. I'll need every bit of luck possible. First overheat happened a few hours ago. The thermal-hopefully-not-nuclear war has begun against this crappy laptop.. ugh. Also, what happens if you miss, for example, two days of missions? I am in Boy Scouts, and we do campouts occasionally.. lots of them. So if I miss two days, would I just do two extra missions the next possible day?
-
My computer has a heating issue, too. It's a really big problem, especially when it overheats mid-livestream or mid-recording.. but nonetheless, it's annoying all around. I will attempt this on my alternate laptop, which is starting to develop the heating problem as of now.. however, I will participate in this challenge for as long as thermally possible. I really do like the idea of this. Thanks for sharing it!

The Utility-Aircraft Challenge
Fleskhjerta14577 replied to Northstar1989's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
That would be.. interesting, to say the least.. -
Two button Bob - whoops!
Fleskhjerta14577 replied to drewscriver's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
That's what I meant, tilting it in the VAB and then putting launch clamps on it. The problem is now I can't do anything with my career game due to the fact that this was on my Career game.. and a hard mode one at that. I repaired the runway and launched an SSTO, however, for the reason of completing a few contracts that I already had but other than that I now have a burning hulk of metal that used to be called a Space Center. -
The Utility-Aircraft Challenge
Fleskhjerta14577 replied to Northstar1989's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Will give this a go, unfortunately I only play stock so this is going to be interesting. Is mid-air refueling allowed? It seems like a really, really bad idea on stock but is it? Made a very large aircraft for this challenge and despite it's size it actually flies and is pretty maneuverable.. will post pictures later when I'm landed at the first fuel tank at the North Pole Oh wait! Isn't the OP supposed to do the challenge to prove it's possible? I mean I know that this is possible but isn't that challenge rules or something? -
Docking: From Navball to First Station, and Beyond
Fleskhjerta14577 replied to Starwhip's topic in KSP1 Tutorials
Same with me.. I just did my first rendezvous & docking in orbit and am now questioning why I thought this was so hard before... and I also forgot solar panels or any type of power generation.. eh, not that much of a problem, Kerbals don't need life support anyways. -

Completely off topic to the challenge or your post but your tutorial for the Docking: From Navball to First Station really, really helped me, thanks for posting that -
Two button Bob - whoops!
Fleskhjerta14577 replied to drewscriver's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I found out the best way to destroy the Space Center, fully and truly - use an old rocket that I built a while back and uses approximately 500 Mainsails on the first stage, tilt the beast over, and "accidentally" abort and send boosters flying literally everywhere... oh Kod.. Forgot screenshots, will post them later. And what I mean by tilting it over is in the VAB grabbing it and tilting it over towards the KSC.. does that break any rules? May or may not have forgotten that I did this on my career game.. the one where it's on hard mode.. Well, looks like I'm going to have to find funds some other way, my space center is completely destroyed. -

Probably, unless that's not the challenge, in which case the OP should make that clear (don't take this negatively, but was just wondering ) -
Two button Bob - whoops!
Fleskhjerta14577 replied to drewscriver's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
This seems like a fun challenge, especially with it including destroying the KSC.. will try this later. Do the two button presses include maneuvering the craft? As in, if you were flying a plane would that count? Or does that mean staging?
