  1. Thanks for all who responded but I found the fix. I had to completely remove KSP- literally physically delete every single file including all of my saved games then run a clean install from Steam. Fixing the cache hadnt worked and neither did simply uninstalling the program because it kept some of the files. Once I wiped everything down and reinstalled it worked like a charm. Somehow there were duplicate Mk1 command pods coming from somewhere. IDK, but now it works! Thanks!
  2. So I did this but it still says "Part model requires initial purchase in R&D" when i look at it in the assembly building and it will not allow me to select it.
  3. The command pod does show up, but it says that it requires something before it can be unlocked. I cannot remember exactly what it says but even though it appears to be researched in the R&D building it will not let me use it when I actually go into the hangar. I do not have any mods installed.
  4. Hello fellow Kerbal Commanders, I am wondering if you would be willing to assist me with the new career mode. I am having problems getting the command module to unlock, and thus I cannot field any Kerbals into space. I have read that this is some kind of bug but have yet to see a detailed instructional on how to fix this bug. If someone that is aware of this fix could provide a detailed step by step I would deeply appreciate it. Thanks!
  5. I have been trying (and failing) for the past two weeks (30+ hours) to successfully dock with a space station in order to attach fuel tanks in hopes of creating an orbital refueling station. I have thoroughly enjoyed the game thus far. My excitement at landing on the Mun was (I am sure) almost as sincere as NASA scientists watching their Apollo mission do the same. But, I have reached the point of frustration with KSP that is now ruining the game for me. Perhaps I am too stupid to figure out how to do this. I have watched every Scott Manley video known to mankind many times over and can still not master the seemingly simple act of syncing orbits and docking. I would really like either the Devs or a fan to develop a MOD that allows auto-piloted controls to conduct tasks like orbital sync and docking or at least get me in close. Seriously if I concentrate any longer on how to sync and dock I think my head might explode. Does anyone know of any MODs in development or out there that can do this? Please help this noob!
  6. First of all, I'm a noob. So try not to laugh at me too hard when answering this. I am having a problem returning from the Mun once I make a landing. I am currently using the liquid fuel engine that has 200 thrust output and using the long, skinny fuel cans for the source. My problem is that I burn up too much fuel trying to decelerate to the surface and have none left to get back. My question is twofold. First of all, is there a landing trajectory that will decrease my speed without using as much thrust? Second, would a nuclear powered engine be a more efficient choice and still get the job done (make orbital maneuvers and decelerate enough to land safely. Also I would appreciate any plans for decelerating to the Mun (altitude-speed indicators). Thanks!
