  1. I updated to .23 and imported my saves from .22. Then I finished working on a protype plane I was working on and I sent Jeb to pilot it. Flew it across the continent for 15 minutes before deciding to land, and to see my position I checked the map - when weird beeping sounds occured and I lost all control of my plane as it spiralled out of controlled and crashed into the ocean. Then I creyed.
  2. I use the Lazy Newb Pack for DF, and I still find it very difficult to play. Dat learning curve. I guess I'm just too used to the fancy GUIs most games have nowadays.
  3. That looks great! I love the plasma trails being emitted from both sides of Luos.
  4. I tried Dwarf Fortress numerous times and I can never manage to set up a decent fortress. I tried adventure mode later and that was much easier than fortress mode. Such a complex game, to be honest I find the graphics to be the main culprit, and the interface. Not used to ASCII games
  5. A few years ago I got banned from a GTA: SAMP server for making a... "rude joke" (there are children on these forums!). Needless to say I was confused considering it was GTA and I made an adult joke... just... it still hurts my brain to this day!
  6. Not many explosive fails (yet!). One of the recent ones I can think of is when I was returning a science mission from the Mun, I didn't decelerate enough during Kerbin re-entry; then at 500m my parachutes deployed and the sudden jerk was enough to "decouple" my science equipment from my capsule. Oh well... F9.
  7. If it's in a vacuum, then it would be 1c I think.. I made this thread expecting some Oberth effect stuff and it just slowly changed into relativity and time travel, oh I love these forums
  8. So, does that mean Astronauts who have moved slower through time are technically in the past, or are we all at the same point in time?

    Sims 3

Used to play a ton of Sims 3, but I got bored of it after the World Adventures Expansion Pack. As for the Sims 2, I had all of the expansion packs for that - played a few hundred hours on it. Best one.
  10. Thanks for that explanation, I was always confused by that "time slowing down the faster you go" thing. Still kinda hard to wrap my head around the whole thing but I think I get the basic idea.
  11. Oh right, so the Oberth effect is only helpful up to a certain maximum speed before it becomes redundant? Edit: So what I understand now is that the Oberth effect merely decreases the amount of energy required to accelerate the faster you go?
  12. Alright, before I post this I have a little disclaimer: I like to think I know rocket science stuff, but deep down I'm really an idiot - so bear with me on this one. So, the Oberth Effect essentially means that the faster your spacecraft goes, the more speed you gain from a burn? (I think that's what it means anyway) You start your journey far away from the Sun, around Pluto, and you began to travel towards the Sun to the minimum Periapsis possible without melting your spacecraft, and then burn about 1/5th of your fuel (Hypothetically, we have a lot of fuel. It's not infinite though.) to perform an Oberth maneuver to escape the solar system. When you escape the solar system and you have a minimal amount of gravity acting on your spacecraft, you burn the rest of your fuel prograde to get to FTL, because you are getting faster and therefore your burn is increasing your speed exponentially. (Once again, we hypothetically have enough fuel to do this.) So, I guess what I'm asking is this possible, and if not, why? Thanks for reading this, I hope you didn't loose too many IQ points.

    Hello!

Hi there! I've been playing KSP for a few months now and I really love this game. (Even though I'm not so good at it ) So I decided to start using the forums, even though I've had a forum account for a while. The community here seems really friendly, so I'm glad to be here!
