  1. Oh, that is using FAR and Pizza and Aerospace mods. It also has a KAS point. Fly's quite well. I could knock 1 landing gear off, and 1 generator and reduce the batter size. Probably get away with 1 less set of mini air intakes you see in the back, they give such a tiny boost, but those extra meters altitude count.. If I wanted to really fly on fumes I could lose the 2nd set of liquid fuel tanks. I could possibly make the wings smaller too.
  2. Not only do they completely replace the rotatron functionality in a smaller and more aesthetic part, but they work great No bouncing or bugs I've experienced yet. So far, I'm using them to make a low-g vtol probe with ion engines - 'the hummingbird'
  3. Mechjeb can be good as a tutor as well though. It gives you the idea of how to do things because it now explains how it does it. How many new players thought that going into orbit meant just going up until thier apoapsis was over orbital height without raising the periapse as well. How many players forget that doing an approach to a target in orbit isn't about getting closer but about the relative velocity when getting close. Trying to do a docking without keeping an eye on the relative velocity is next to impossible. Doing it yourself is more fun, yeah... but repeated identical launches to get fuel into orbit is borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring. My way of playing is "How would NASA do it".
