Oi don! There are 3 pics of my box craft and the name is Box. Will be editing this post for my pros/cons. Star: Pros: Light weight config Easy Design Low part count Easily packaged Low likelihood for damage [*] [*]Cons: Low energy provision Craft shadowing panels 120-180 degrees of craft alignment unusable due to alignment to the sun(can by reduced/removed with dual star panel alignments and those being angled to the front/back of the craft) Limited scalibility [*] TriBranch: Pros:Light weight config Easy Design Some ability to Scale Easily packaged Low likelihood for damage [*] [*]Cons: Increased part count Potential Structural issues 120-180 degrees of craft alignment unusable due to alignment to the sun, difficult to counteract. [*] 2x T(Branching): Pros:Good Generation Low-Medium Weight Low-Medium Part Count [*] [*]Cons: Torsion Forces Potential Structural issues 120-180 degrees of craft alignment unusable due to alignment to the sun, some simply counteraction available. Can have turning issues. [*] Monoplane: Pros:Light weight config Easily packaged Low likelihood for damage [*] [*]Cons: Difficult to design Craft shadowing panels Design issues with energy generation and vector aligns Limited scalibility [*] Box: Pros:Good Energy Generation No Shadows Very Flexible for Thrust Vectors [*] [*]Cons: Difficult Design Damage issues Large Footprint Medium-High Part/Mass [*]

Added 6 photos of my munar encounter to my album. For solar panels: http://i.imgur.com/1hpwlyR.png http://i.imgur.com/jukxH8M.png http://i.imgur.com/O6iv0vC.png http://kerbalcrafts.com/crafts/346 For the craft you can swap the big panels for small at a cost of 4 e/s(based on maximums) and massive increase in part count with a weight savings. Will look at others and give opinions/pros-cons after work.

[PLUGIN+PARTS][0.23] SCANsat terrain mapping
jumpyed replied to damny's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
I'm up to about 44 in the thread so no promises on this not being mentioned before. And a couple of things before my feature requests, I'm assuming that they A) are doable and won't hurt performance much. First instead of splitting up the scanners much, why not have multiply of the same scanner but unlocked later. So for example the earliest biome scanner is heavy and large-ish but low power requirement and has some fuzziness to the biome borders and anomaly placement(marks it but might not be right where marked) the next one unlocked is medium weight small-medium in size but high power needs and little-no fuzziness. The last one being small lightweight medium power needs and small amount of fuzziness. This way you start out with low quality scanners but you aren't limited by type and you still have the tech focus to improve them while still including reasons to use one over the other in limited cases. And being able to detect resources from other mods Ie. KSPi, Kethane, Extraplanetary launchpads. -
A new Vendela System idea (expanding KSP possibilities)
jumpyed replied to Iron4venger's topic in KSP Fan Works
TBH a Space Plane would do very well even if jets didn't work in the upper. Kick it straight up from lower to upper and then translate the upwards momentum into lateral and lift. I would have jets work in the upper though with a very very high overheating rate due to the reactivity of Ionized Oxygen. -

I think that jet engines should be able to work in the Upper Atmosphere, it should just have a high rate of explosion causing. -

What about upper Van Allen being Ionized Hydrogen, lower Van Allen Ionized Oxygen and then the atmosphere proper being normal O2 with vacuums in between? -

Or Ionized Oxygen(red yes?). With the high rate of energetic particles coming from the local star the oxygen has been trapped in the lower Van Allen belt cause the sky to be medium red(ripe tomato?) with the lower atmosphere with it's non energized oxygen being a deep red. With the atmospheres both being near 100% Oxygen rockets have to contend with increased overheating although thrust is also increased by a small amount.
