I have to say i have Mechjeb installed and it might be responsible for the following Problems: I noticed that my Rockets have a increased tendency to break more randomly. Most of the time i can see why my Rocket explodes. But most annoyingly they "deconstruct" right before the destination, say while decending on the Mun or some such. Everything is going fine, but suddenly the rocket falls apart. But no explosion. The Parts just... fly apart. At first i thought maybe the Reaction Wheels build up some sort of oscillation wich shake the Rocket apart. But even when i deactivate them all it still happens. As it happens while landing on Duna i had enough and i had to walk away from the Game again. I don't really know what to do...

I think they did that on purpose. I'm guessing to reduce Min-Maxing. But you are right, it is not logical.

Some Equipment won't work in the vaccum. Temperature only works close to a body or on the surface. Most Instruments only work on the surface. The Science Bay and Mystery Goo will work in Space though. PS: You can see Info on the Displays of the Instruments, but that doesn't necessarily mean you can transfer the measurement.

In the older Version i managed to Dock to vehicles together on the Mun, but the Docking Ports were on the sides, not top and bottom. It took a second or so, sometimes it helps to turn SAS on and off and they lock together.

Yes indeed. I don't think it is much harder than Sandbox Mode because the Tech Tree Limits you, and you have to take Babysteps in the beginning. The limitiation lets me Focus on one thing at a time. HarvesteR was right when he said the Game was Overwhelming for Newbies with all that Parts. He mentioned also that some may not read the description. I don't think so. I think that the descriptions focus more on humor than on actual useful Information. Some Parts don't have a description at all, just fluff text.

Sounds good and a little bit dangerous. Delicious

As a KSP Noob i think i'll have to add my two cents about the new Career Mode. It gives me a lot of Motivation to try new things, and feel rewarded for ambitios (well for me anyway) Projects. I think it is not too easy. Maybe for you Veterans. I'm sure you don't have any trouble breezing through the Tech Tree. But that's ok. You shouldn't feel punished for knowing the Game. But for somebody like me, who just recently reached Duna (yes i am proud); first with a Probe, then a manned Mission, Career Mode is a welcome addition. But i have to agree i don't like the Spammy nature of it right now. To get the most Points of your Visit anywhere you have to send the Same Data Multiple Times. I'm sure they can do this a little bit better and more involved. Just recently somebody posted in the Forum something like "i cheated gave myself a million research points lololol". What is the Point of that? This defeats the purpose and you should stick to Sandbox Mode when you are going to cheat anyway. PS: Oh and by the Way: I wanted to visit Eve, failed utterly and went to Jool instead. On the Way i realized the Rocket was in no Way equipped for such a long trip. Three Kerbals are now Orbiting Jool in a rather crooked Orbit and may never come back. FOR SCIENCE! A moment of Silence for these poor Individuals please. PPS: Is there a Plan to "train" new Recruits? And/Or Leveling up some stats? Because right now, they aren't much more than Window-Dressing. I admit it is hilarious to pick the least brave Kerbal and watch him freak out.

To my knowlege Totalbiscuit played neither of these Games, at least not on video. Jesse Cox on the other Hand played both. And no, The Yogscast has more.

Hi Fellow Deviantart-user i assume?

Interesting. I really haven't thought of landing on the Mun with a Spaceplane. I think it would be really difficult because having no Atmosphere to glide in is kind of a Bummer. In addition, the Surface is not really ideal for that kind of Spacecraft ^^ But if you manage it feel free to contact me

Hello fellow Spacefarer Despite being new in the Forum, i have a few hours, days even under my Belt. The first few hours in the Game are both frightening and highly enjoyable. Everytime you succeed in something you thought you would never pull off makes you feel like a million dollars. There is a ton of stuff to do in this Game and i learn something new every time i play Like i mentioned in my first thread, i'm rebuilding my Mun Space Station because i deletet it in the Space Center XD. Anyway have fun and see you in Space -
Strangely the Stages are behving now. But i hope i will remember to make a Screenshot if it happens again. Right now i'm really happy everything went down without a hitch. Well... besides the fact that i'm an idiot and deleted a whole Spacestation by mistake, and botched the landing of the Lifter so that it crashed ^^ But at least the Munbase is ok

Thanks for the Tip But it seems like Tw1 was right on the Money. I read something similar online yesterday and i remember that i wanted the Fueltanker to attach himself on his Backside. I selected the Docking Port waaay to early. Your Idea was exactly the Plan that went wrong the whole time because i didn't realize it had something to do with the Docking Ports

Hello fellow Kerbalnauts! I was looking for a Game like this a loong time. Some came close to what i wanted, but this one really nailed it. At first i had bad trouble learning the Game but that was to expected. I saw some Tutorial Videos on Youtube (mainly Scott Manleys) and i got more and more ambitious. I learned how to Orbit, how to Dock, how to get to the Mun and beyond and it was time for me to establish a real presence in Space. So i went to work. I put some Satellites and Spacestations in Orbit of Kerbin and Mun and was ready to Construct a Munbase. The trouble began right there: I designed a Vehicle that could double as a Rover and a Base on the Mun. To get it to the Surface i constructed a Skycrane-like Lifting Vehicle on top of the Thing. I tested it on the Surface of Kerbin to see if it would survive the Dropdown. This took some time, but i was ready to invest it. Everything looked good, until i got to the Mun. By that time i had installed MechJeb, the Kethaine Mod and the Docking Alignement System. Mechjeb was unable to Land the Skycrane on the Mun because it would Spiral out of control for some reason. This was not Mechjebs fault, just poor design decisions. Then i thought to myself: Time to redesign. So i did. This time the Lifter was so heavy it started to Sandwich the Mun Base at liftoff until it was crushed. I switched some Rockets and had success. The drawback was, i had to refill the Lifter in Space. No Problem, i just send my Fueltanker up in Space and refill. The Fueltanker was my most reliable, most stable Spacecraft and had never failed me. At Liftoff there was no Problem, but at roughly 5km up it startet compressing and ultimately exploded. Well sh*t happens, i tried again. This time the Separators wouldn't seperate. Not only that, Mechjeb activated all stages in rapid succesion. This happened 5 times in a row. FINALLY i got the bloody thing in Space. I told mechjeb to Auto Ascend. It did it countless times but this time it was flummoxed by my command and burned retrograde and crashed into Kerbin. Well fine Mr. Mechjeb, if you want to play that way... This time i did it by hand and got into Orbit. My time was running out, because i had to go to work soon so i got Mechjeb another Chance. I told it to rendezvous with the other Spacecraft so i could dock and refuel. This time i watched it closely. It set up the Manouver Nodes correctly and when it came time to execute the Node he hit the mark perfectly. Then something really strange happened: The Blue Marker pointed Retrograde instead of Prograde. I doublechecked the Map, but the dotted line showed exactly the Manouver it should have taken. It started to burn at the right time, but as i then expected the Orbit shrunk down second by second and would eventually crash in the Planet. I tried this numerous times. Everytime the Nodes pointed in exactly the opposite direction. I don't know what is going on here, because this glitch is compeltely new to me. Do you have any clue to what is happening here? I don't think that this is Mechjebs fault, because it was just doing what the Manouver Nodes told him. And i don't know why the Stage-Seperators failed so badly. At the Moment i'm a bit pissed, because i didn't even get to the hard Part of the Mission. I'm at work now. I'm downloading the Game again and reinstall in hopes this is getting rid off the glitches. Then one by one i will reinstall the Add-ons. What are your biggest "What the Hell?" Moments in the Game?
