  1. I landed a rover on Duna and got it stuck upside down. The RCS thrusters that I had installed for this purpose were too weak to flip it back over. So I built a front bucket onto the same rover chassis and added some little Rockomaxes to keep it from getting stuck belly up. Then I launched it on an epic mission with the sole purpose of rescuing Jondun Kerman from his terrible driving skills. Well...to flip the rover back over; he's on his own getting back home. 2. Got that fixed for ya, Squirrel. I forgot that I had made a copy of the Basic Jet Engine and increased it's thrust to 250 to give the Tomcat more horsepower. I updated the craft file in my previous post so it'll work for everyone. It will fly with the Basic engine, I just thought it needed more oomph!
  3. New and improved Tomcat for your aeronautic pleasure. Optimized lift surfaces for improved stability in horizontal flight. Most importantly, this version adds functional, sweeping wings!! 4. Gojira was looking for this back in April and I just found it on the space port. This is not my design. Built by Kevin Nguyen. No one has downloaded it yet, so I don't know if it's any good. http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/tank-for-kebal/
  5. That's the only one I've done so far. Was thinking of doing an F-18 Hornet next. I'll post it here when it's done.
  6. This is my first attempt at building a craft for atmospheric flight. It's a replica of the iconic F-14 Tomcat. It handles pretty well and accelerates down the runway straight as an arrow. I thought it was a little slow, so I duplicated the Basic Jet Engine and increased the thrust to 250 on my personal Tomcat. The plane flies just fine without the engine change, so that modification is completely up to you! 7. The way I did it, I sent up a habitation module first with the cubic docking ports on both ends, then I took each fuel tank up separately. I used very similar launch vehicles to get everything up into orbit. Everything is jettisoned getting into orbit except the bottom-center tank and engine which is used to park the body of the station. The center fuel tank is not used in ascent, it is docked to the station for refueling craft in space. Once in orbit, I undocked the big tank from the command module, flipped around and docked back up with it so that my maneuvering controls would be pointing in the right direction. In other words, the refueling tank rides into space on the bottom of the command module and then is moved to the top once in orbit. There is a T45 rocket motor between the two fuel tanks in the center section that is accessed by jettisoning the lower docking port after moving the refueling tank to the top of the command module. A work in progress, but it already functions as an orbital refueling station.
  8. Thanks, Mack, that was it. The CoL straightened out as soon as pulled the vertical stabilizers off. I appreciate the help.
  9. I built an aircraft only to be used in the atmosphere, and I noticed an anomaly in the center of lift. As you can see in the screenshot, the CoL is rotated clockwise a few degrees around its vertical axis. The craft was built with symmetry on, so I'm not sure what could've caused this. Anyone have any ideas?
