Hello Fellow KSP Users, I have a pretty good rig for ksp (i5-4670k, Radeon 7990 6-gb, 16 gb corsair, etc etc.) and I recently installed Interstellar. I am able to run 500 part stations with no fps drop but I recently built this thing in orbit: It has 180 parts and lags like crazy (<10 fps, yellow timer on the top left) and im 99% sure it has something to do with the interstellar parts. Anyone know what it is and how I can go about fixing it? Thanks

Alternatively... you can go to Jool and run an atmospheric analysis for 2400 science. None of this math needed.

MMO or Singleplayer, there naturally exists a gradient of "Casual" to "Hardcore". If this weren't true, there would have been no hardcore gamers (by your definition) a decade ago when online games weren't around. I would have considered myself a hardcore N64 player.

With the advent of 0.22, I wanted to make (another) mun base. Obviously, this one would be more science-based. Check it out and let me know what you think! (I started it today, but I'm not finished. This is what I have so far) Lets start with "Prof. Jebidiah's Office" (Click to enlarge) It's equipped with a lot of room for Kerbal test subjects... *cough* I mean graduate students. Jebidiah's office is obviously the 3-man capsule. Next up is the "Munbus". A 20 seat munar bus for field trips and gathering samples. It has no windshield/s so Jebidiah and his class can feel the breeze! (jk no air) Next is the Box. Ah, but this is no ordinary Box. This Lab-in-a-Box comes equipped with a coffee table, and enough science equipment to keep my kerbals busy until the next update! It is all appropriately located within +/- 200m of the Neil Armstrong Memorial. I look forward to sciencing in this update

I went to jool and cashed in on the 2400 science for the atmospheric analysis. Finished the tree up the easy way.

You cant really do Beta Testing in the Alpha Stage of the game...

Hello Kerbalnauts, I recently watched the video of the discussion between Scott Manley and Felipe about 0.22. I heard Felipe calling the tech trees more of an introduction to newer players. To me, this seems like it should stay as an extended tutorial. A story seems intrinsic to career mode. Maybe mission 1 could be to put a telescope into orbit and we unexpectedly see a kerbol system-sized asteroid 20 kerbolnautical units away and we start doing rocket science to find out how to get out of the Kerbol system. As the updates pile on, new solar systems are mapped and we plan our mission to get out of the system. Story aside, the minor stuff would include: -Achievement system (for visiting and landing all planets/moons and easter eggs as well as other random things like "Docking master - Dock 500 times", "Space Station into Orbit") -Customizing stats. You gain science to improve the drag, efficiency, mass of parts/engines. Part availability: -Most of the parts are available, and only the really good/large ones like large tanks, mainsails, and nuclear engines should be unlockable. After these are unlocked, NEW parts become researchable as the updates pile on. This is where science comes in. We go and do science to research newer parts that are going to get us out of the kerbol system. This would kind of make sense after having done an extended tutorial. It would make beginners follow a story, and when (or if) they complete it, they can then do whatever their heart desires in sandbox mode. (Maybe you can make sandbox mode only unlockable after completing the story? Although that would make no sense because kerbin would have been accreted onto the asteroid.) What do you guys think? (Sorry if i posted in the wrong channel)

I would really love this game to expand to a sciencey game. Like, in version 3.0 I can imagine having interstellar travel that would require a lot of technology (i.e. a very large and maxed out tech tree). Some of the tech upgrades would require sending satellites and telescopes into orbit to detect radio waves, gamma waves and K-rays (heh.. X-rays) etc., kinda like spectroscopy irl. Prerequisites for getting to another star would be like sending a probe there, etc. Just random ideas here lol

Going back to the topic, I ordered my rig last night. i7-4820K (I believe this was released this week) 128GB ADATA SP900 SATA-III 6.0Gb/s (Added a 500gb HDD too) MSI X79A-GD45 Plus Intel X79 Chipset Quad Channel DDR3 ATX Mainboard w/ Winki 3, OC Genie II, 7.1 HD Audio, GbLAN, 3 Gen3 PCIe X16 & 4 PCIe X1 800 watt Power Supply 16 GB RAM 1333mhz And I actually went for neither of the video cards I posted: AMD Radeon 7870 Topped it off with a liquid cooling system Paid 1500 total, including 24" 1080p 2ms response monitor and a couple of other accessories under 50 bucks. Was it worth it?

Hello Fellow Space Enthusiasts, I am looking into buying a gaming rig soon (solely for KSP) and I wanted to ask y'all a question about the configuration. Given the circumstance that KSP is not necessarily a graphic-intensive game, but rather a calculation-intensive game, should I invest extra $$$ into a higher-end graphics card or will a decent one + a high end processor fare well? I'm looking to run everything at max settings, etc. Specifics: Processor: (correct this if its wrong, but...) I'm going to wait until Intel releases their new processors later this year. If not, the current i7 model. GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7970 3GB vs AMD Radeon HD 7770 1GB Also, going back to the fact that KSP is a calculation-intensive game... would overclocking the system be more noticable than, say, overclocking it for an MMO or FPS?

I actually manually aligned them. They WERE unaligned, and if they still are it's by less than 0.1 degree because I couldn't tell from a side view.

Hello Fellow Space Enthusiasts, I've been playing Kerbal Space Program (obsessively) for a couple months now. Recently, however, I have moved to college and (although I brought my old save files with me) I decided to make a new save file and start off fresh. Here then, is my first space station in the works ... let me know what you think! (and maybe suggestions for what I should add.) P.S. This is my first post, pardon me if I put it in the wrong section.
