Pantheron's post in KSP crashing during and after loading was marked as the answer
Starting with `-force-d3d11` seems to have solved the problem. But I do not understand why it crashes with DirectX 9 and OpenGL but not with DirectX 11.
Now I know why I had `KSP_x64.exe -single-instance -force-d3d11` as my command line arguments in CKAN.
