  1. Well as I said, it's based on the Su-35 and I followed the schematic as much as I could. But yeah it's highly maneuverable, but it's not incredibly fast.
  2. So here is a fighter plane I've made based on the Russian Su-35 using this schematic It is not a perfect replica. For starter the shape is not exactly the same, the rear fins are at the same height than the actual wings, which is not the case of the real life Su-35, and also the aerobrakes are not placed like the real one, but overall it looks very similar. It flies extremely well. It is very stable. It reaches Mach 1 (Mach 1 is actually 340 m/s, it goes to a maximum of 334 m/s) under 10,000 meters. It can go faster than that if you go higher although equal performances are not guaranteed and you're likely to run out of air intake if you go up too fast so it can only ascend gradually. For any of you interested here is the ship file: http://www.filedropper.com/ku-35

  4. Ok so I've installed the Interstellar mod Scott Manley has been using in his videos maybe like a month or two ago and to be honest I haven't really used it yet. I created a new career game and unlocked serval parts already. Still, I have no idea how to use them properly. I've watched a few videos, but the good tutorials are very scarce. I've read the Wikia page. I've tried it a bit but for some reasons I can't do anything with that mod that would be worth it. I know it's a great mod with great possibilities, but seriously the best I can do is rocket that has virtually no delta v and can gain about 1 m/s every few seconds. I can't launch anything using Interstellar parts; I can only use them on my last stage. Anyone can either help me or give me a link to an actual good tutorial? What I know: Engines/thrusters can use different types of fuel, yet I can only manage to use LFO or Liquid and they are far from efficient. Used the way I do, the stock parts are much better. I think that Interstellar thrusters require a reactor to function. I get it that reactors generate energy. How is this energy used I have no idea and why is it even useful to have them considering I get 1 m/s per second acceleration, I have no idea. I know that you can attach an electric power generator to your reactor. What this electric power does is still unknown to me. There are tons of different types of ressources tanks that none of the engines I have unlocked can even use.
  5. The station The satellite repair module. It doesn't really work, it's just for the looks. It has yellow ladders that can extract to work as some sort of repair machines. The instruments module The space plane docking arm It's a not so advanced career game so I didn't have much of the parts the game can offer. I did my best with what I had. There is still a docking port left unused so I will find something to fill it with. I didn't have any plan regarding that space station I just make new modules on the spot.
  6. If they are anything like us, they will send a message with good intention at first, but will then turn dip **** crazy and invade us for a reason the will rationalize afterward.
  7. Look. It's really simple. Any contact with an alien species within the area of our solar system would result in very bad consequences for us and maybe for them as well. There is no good answer to this. It's really cute when aliens and humans bond in movies, but in real life I don't think that it would happen this way. Wether we decide to accommodate them or fight them, in both cases we're screwed. Look at it this way. If an alien species had the ability of interstellar travel and us not, the relationship would be very similar to the relationship between Europeans and Native Americans. If we let them come peacefully, they would probably just take everything they want. If we fight them, considering that they are in a difficult position at the moment, it would be our best opportunity to just get rid of them before they can gain back their power. The advantage that we have is that contrary to 16th century Europeans, the aliens don't actually have a home planet to send reinforcements. You also have to take into consideration that we're not talking about ANY situation, but a very specific one. The OP specifically said that it was a civilian ship and that they are seriously incapacitated by their situation. Also you have to remember that they found us by mistake. They didn't know we were there before they came near our solar system. I know I sound like a war mongering douche, but this situation would be very serious and there is no going back. If we make any concessions we're done. If we refuse to let them come to Earth while letting them live they might not attack us right away, but they will then know where we are and that is EXTREMELY risky. The consequences of this encounter are not comparable to wars between human nations as we know them... We're not just talking about occupation and conquests, but about the potential extinction of our specie. We can't afford "being nice"...
  8. Look at all the possible risks: 1) They could bring viruses we haven't evolved to survive to. 2) They could be a race that reproduces extremely quickly and overpopulate the Earth or simply become more numerous than us in just a few hundred years. 3) They could be trying to get us off our guard to invade us with less resistance. 4) They could require more resources than we are willing to provide to them. 5) They could be reluctant to some of our ways/rules/cultural traits/behaviours 6) They could potentially become their own country, with a much more advanced technologies than us and just wipe us off the Earth as soon as they get tired of us. 7) They could be friendly only because they're in need for help and as soon as they get back on their feet, considering the scientific knowledge they have, they would just destroy us and take the Earth for themselves. Assuming that evolution and natural selection worked the same way on their planet, if they are at the top of their food chain, they necessarily are dangerous predators. They are likely to not be that friendly. Seriously if this ever happens what we should (and I hope that we would too) do is just nuke the hell of of them as soon as we see them. No questions, no conversation, no contact what so ever. We don't even give them a warning. We shoot, we kill them and we never talk about it ever again.
  9. As I said last time, it took a monstrous rocket to launch that haha. But yeah it's pretty cool. It was interesting to look at and read.
  10. I'll surely look forward to follow your thread.
  11. That's a very cool looking base... But hell it looks heavy. It must have taken a monstrous rocket to launch that haha.
  12. Pure stock. I haven't played with mods... Well... Ever.
  13. So here it is. I've done it... And it worked! I admit that the landing was a little sketchy, but to be honest, the base (including the docking ports) is surprisingly stable and it can be driven very comfortably around the Mun. Here are the pictures: Fully assembled base docked on the Mun station: Landing. High on Mun orbit: Landing: Medium height over the Mun: I landed. It was a very (very) rough landing, but the based actually survived the 50m fall and serval other issues encountered with my poorly designed landing system lol. Another small issue is that the decoupler at the front was installed on the wrong side so it will stay there indefinitely. I can live with that. Others: So overall it was a nice mission. Very well planned when it comes to the space station, the in-orbit assembly... It was only the landing that was bad, but the important is that I made it (on first attempt, no quicksave was ever used). So yeah... Just wanted to share that with you guys
  14. Damn... Hum, I just assumed that since there is no atmosphere and very little gravity it would just work out. I tested the driving on Kerbin and it was fine, but I will admit that I didn't test the landing.
  15. So I started a new mission that is actually quite demanding. Much more than you could except because I'm not sending just a small living quarter off to the Mun. I've constructed a space station capable of refuelling ships and that can itself be refilled. I've also placed a small station on a 40,000m high orbit around the Mun. So the way it works is that I sent different parts of the station, built it, then sent parts of the Mun Base one by one to dock on the Kerbin station, refuelled them in order to send them to the Mun, placed them in orbit, docked them on the Mun station and them I'm going to land on the Mun with a fairly big mobile base. Here is how it looks: The station The base (it was edited serval time since then and the wheels are no more connected through docking ports. I just launched them with the modules) The first Base module being refuelled at the station The first Base module being docked at the Mun Station The second Base module being docked at the Mun Station So this is a work in progress and I'll keep updating my mission on this thread. AND YES I WILL SEND A FUEL TANK AND A LANDER PART FOR THE BASE... I won't just throw it on the Mun lol Tell me what you think, what you like, what you dislike. Give me advice if you want
