Altitude Program: Sublimitas I Table of Contents -Introduction -Mod List -The Mission -Outro/Questions Introduction Hello, This is a mission I did of a Gemini style program thingy that I thought was pretty, well... organized compared to everything else I do in the game It took me about a day to test the rocket and get a good attempt to post pictures of.... I figured some people might enjoy looking at it, Maybe even inspire them to do orbital missions (cause who doesn't love a pointless orbital mission ) Anyway, tell me what you like, if you like, and whatever. To start, I sent the Target Vehicle up on the Kit-AN I launch vehicle. Took off just after at sunrise for obvious reasons... Because it looks good. Shortly after launch, the SRB's needed to go. So, throttled down to ensure no explosions happen to kill 3 non-deserving Kerbals. Slowly throttled up to spend the rest of the fuel. And we stage! We find a good altitude to have our orbit, and wait to burn... After the burn, we separate the fairings and release the Target vehicle Circularize the orbit and wait for the Orbital crew to come and practice orbital maneuvers and rendezvous and perform the first kerbal space-walk! Can you say.... PrettySexyTargetVehicle Back home, we've got our Kit-AN I-B holding the Orbiter, In a few minutes, it will launch. But since it's the same exact process as with the Kit-AN I, we'll just go to the final stages. And in the final stages we have the Orbiter getting ready to complete it's orbit burn. And here is the Sublimitas I Orbiter! The crew is ready to start matching the orbit of the Target Vehicle and do maneuvers to get to it. After magical moving powers, We deploy solar panels to re-gain energy and wait to approach it's target Getting close! We catch sight of the Target Vehicle and adjust to match the speed of the orbiter as it fly's past. We are so close now, hopefully we don't like crash for the 4th time and like have to do all of it again. hehe he... *sobs* We slowly approach, very slowly, so that there is no crashing, and exploding of docking ports. And we are docked! no problems at all, truly a feat for Kerbal kind, This will produce information worthy of using for Altitude Program Stations to practice crew transfers. Ladies and gentlemen, the first kerbal to space waddle! He does a 2 minute check of the panels and fuel lines on the Target Vehicle. 4 Orbits later, Bill steps out to set a kerbal space walk record of 4 minutes and 30 seconds! Just before they Un-dock and start re-entry. Undocking... soon adjust and do the last burn for re-entry The Target Vehicle is left in orbit for future Altitude missions, also double functions as a re-fueler. Decouple the Orbital stage. Awaiting to decouple RCS nose cone thing Good-bye RCS! (later this thing comes within 10 meters of getting it's revenge...) Re-entry lights! Glad we've got a heat resistant shield below us! Chutes deployed, mission success quite possible at this point. Splashdown!!! Mission over! And now we swim... Outro/Question Alright! I forgot how slow I type till I wrote this short thing, and it takes about 2 hours to finish XD Anyway, Are there any guides on the forums that consist of teaching how to land where you plan to? I don't think kerbals enjoy swimming. lul Also, What type of Kerban orbit mission should I do next for the Altitude Program? Much appreciated!
