  1. If they add a larger engine I think it should require it's own special fuel tank. Or something to that effect to make it harder. Just adding something bigger feels like a bit of a cheat. It should have it's own cons. that being said, i've sent some rockets that start close to 2000T at launch. what are you sending that needs a larger engine?
  2. I think that's a hard one to answer as it depends on the skill level of the player. Maybe we need a hard mode and an easy mode. I was able to get to the moon and minmus very easily once I learned how the science system worked. And then to a different planet with no problem. I made over 2000 science points in one trip, without even coming back to Kerbin! At one point I built a rocket that could just goto different poles of Kerbin so that i could do science there. In the easy stages, if you know what you are doing it's VERY easy to get points for research. Problem is that a lot of people are new and the learning curve is steep for them. So in that case, maybe an easy mode that gives more points in the early tech trees.
  3. Yup, it would. Some people don't have any issues with the cheats though. Personally I think it's stuck there. send a rescue mission! On a side note, why do people take pictures with the sun in the back ground? Maybe my monitor is too dark, but I can't see the rocket that well. Flip the camera and do a screen shot with the sun lighting it up. then we can see what we are dealing with a bit better.
  4. I went to Ike. Goo container, the science lab thing. reports along the way, orbit of Duna and Ike. landed on Ike. all the experiments. kerbals are still there, have 2200 points to spend. Was pretty easy compared to landing on the mun.
  5. Here is my lander which I have used on the mun and Minmus. Low to the ground, wide'ish, long. The steel girders, in case if flips. RCS to flip it back over. I sit that thing on the top of a lander. land it on the mun. there is a girder and a stack separator attaching it to the top of the lander. once I detach the separator. I use the rcs to fly it off the lander and onto the mun. I have never landed it on it's wheels. but the steel girders take the abuse like they were designed to and then i just use the rcs to flip it over.
  6. Putting aside that you enjoy launching it all as one piece. I took the challenge to send up my ship in parts. Notice dual docking ports to make sure it's all lined up properly. Also, struts added after the fact. Yes, with a mod. But it works... If you are wondering, on the far side of the ship is my lander. There will be two, one on each side. And I am considering a slight rebuild... only 3 nuclear engines is soooooo slow!
