  1. So here's a brief glimpse into my current space program: -Jebediah on a low-orbit science mission. Currently holds record for highest altitude manned flight. After that successful science mission, I had unlocked enough parts to make a Munar lander possible, albeit only remote control. One of the highlights of the mission, aside from the loads of science, was watching Kerbin eclipse the sun. And here's a shot of my next remote science mission, planned close encounter with Eve: -Leaving Kerbin behind. Going to be a lengthy flight before it comes close to Eve. That launch taught me that my current "lifter" design for launch to initial orbit needs to be improved so ships can carry more fuel into space. That or I need to begin training myself on use of docking ports and orbital rendezvous.
  2. Will look into that, as sometimes I feel the info available for a "space faring race of kerbals" is somewhat poor concerning their own spaceship design haha. Whoa whoa whoa, let's not talk crazy here!
  3. I'm already hooked. Just sent my first Mun lander and got a whopping 500 science from the mission. Now to go "research" more parts. In all I have to say the career mode is better than sandbox for rocket building concepts. Sandbox I just kind of picked the biggest and most expensive parts to put together, but with the limited parts selection found in career mode I feel I'm making better use of the parts themselves.
  4. I'd imagine morality is subjective to whichever culture any alien civilization may have. Rather, I'm sure it would be, much in the same way that morality differs here on Earth depending on culture and upbringing. That being said, moral responsibility I consider to be an internal force based on the need to fit in with a group. Would it be possible for us humans to take the strides necessary to achieve social and cultural unity prior to the time of meeting any possible new sentient species in the universe? I won't speculate that. Towards the original topic at hand however, I've always felt at this point in time while we live in a technological society in which knowledge is abundant, our sphere of influence within the universe has not expanded to match. I've found myself with insatiable bouts of wanderlust, feeling the only thing which would satisfy the curiosity would be to set foot on Mars.
  5. But what else would we fill our Mystery Goo Containment Units with?
  6. Greetings all. Finally picked up my copy of KSP via steam and I've been playing as much as possible in my spare time. For now, vanilla KSP will do, but I see the modding community will be strong with this game. I've been browsing the forums a little bit and like the set up, especially the mission threads, reminds me of car build threads on the other forums I browse.
  7. You need to install a data transmission method on the probe/station/base in order to transmit the data to Kerbin. I've got a Stayputnik probe orbiting the sun inside Kerbin's orbit and I can use it to perform scientific tasks then transmit the data back home. Said probe is never returning to land.
  8. Curious if anyone could verify the longer a craft is in space between data transmissions the more science it's devices accumulate. I ask as I have a Stayputnik probe orbiting the sun just inside Kerbin's orbit and after fooling around with a manned Minmus flyby I decided to go back to the probe. On a whim I activated my Scooty Puff Jr. SC9001 Science Jr and it generated what seemed to be an odd number of science (235).
