Had same issue, another solution is to go to " Kerbal Space Program/GameData/Squad/ " and delete the parts folder(or remove it from that directory atlest) then run the patcher.exe within the main folder. it will redownload only that section of the game correctly without a complete reinstall.

Found that and one for skylabs guidance while cleaning up some of my dads stuff, thought you guys would get a kick outa that. He was a guidance officer during the apollo missions. Yeah thats mildew stains sadly, lots of flooding where I live from time to time -
