Simland and I have had a lot of fun (sadly at the expense of several Kerbals) making these space race videos. Our progress certainly leaves much to be desired since most of our attempts (ok, my attempts) seem to end in disaster. With 0.23, this gives us a chance to restart the race, and I plan on giving the race an actual structure and I wanted to see if the community wanted to weigh in on what we do. The plan is to set up a points system. For each celestial body, 1 point would be given for the first encounter, 2 points for the first successful orbit, 3 points for the first landing on a body, and 4 points for the first landing and return (of at least one kerbin, not necessarily all of them). Game time will be used to see who was first. Reverting back from a crash will not be allowed! Bonus points will also be awarded. These points are temporary. 2 points are for quickest transit. 2 points are for cheapest rocket design. 3 points are for the highest number of Kerbals transported to a body and back. I wanted to get other people's thoughts on if other objectives or scoring should be added. There will be a public google spreadsheet tracking our progress, scores, and milestones, on top of the usual videos of me crashing.
