Or we could have a uniform base height and have all modules have a 2 docking ports on opposite ends so rovers could move the pieces. Or just one under the COM. -

Any idea what the part limit is? Because my module currently clocks in at 24 parts. If the limit's low enough, I might be able to add some RCS fuel. Yay for single launches! Although the new parts still need to be retextured. They don't look... hm... kerbal enough. -

Glad you enjoyed! Now as soon as Goose finishes... -

Oh, yeah. One more thing I almost forgot about. -

Yes, as soon as Goosexi finishes his Minmus base module(s), Nauthy is going to send his module to Duna, and then I will send mine, and so on, and so forth. -

Yeah, Goose is taking a while... maybe Nauthy could overlap him with the beginning of the base? Also, this new update is perfect for the Duna project because the new Maneuver Node system makes it easier to time interplanetary burns. -

One more person I want to add to the recruitment list: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtP8KDpgZoeoPYGQhirvd7w His name is Monev, and he likes spaceplanes. He will probably send his module to Duna with a spaceplane, and the module itself will be a smaller spaceplane. The spaceplane will have spaceplanes on it. Spaceplane. Spaceplane spaceplane spaceplane. One more thing, about 0.23.5, it just got released on Steam and save files appear to be compatible. Excuse me while I go asteroid. -
I had a go at it too. Looking forward to this week's Fixing Subscribers' Crafts!

Oh, yeah, that picture was just for inspiration. Just to show how cool asteroids can be. DSI has nothing to do with KSP. Although... I'm going to see what I can do about replicas when 0.24 comes out. Also, isn't stock mp supposed to come out soon? -

Uh-oh, guys. It turns out the 0.23.5 saves are incompatible with previous saves. I'm not sure if this will be fixed in 0.24, but fair warning. -

Don't think it needs tuning- I just need to practice flying more efficiently. -

Well, guess what time it is! If you guessed time for another VTOL self-advertisement spree, then- well- I'm actually surprised really. My first Single-Stage to Minmus! (And it looks kinda snazzy.) I can't pilot, which is why I gave it so much delta-v, it's virtually idiot-proof! (Except you have to land kinda softly on those SAS units) -

Finally got my single-stage to Minmus working- I'll have to showcase it during the traditional moving-named-kerbals-to-the-new-project. I think if it doesn't land on Minmus, it'll have enough fuel to get to Duna. Now, if you excuse me, I have to submit my craft to ALL THE CONTESTS!!! -

Well, actually, I did my research, and the asteroids don't actually exist until you "track" them. And there is an option to turn asteroids off in the tracking station, apparently. And, Nauthy, have you heard from Goose yet? -

I agree with everything but two. First, It's become traditional for Nauthy to do the first module of any new project, so he should be the one to start off the base, not me. Secondly, because of floating point values, a Duna orbit at Ike's height will invariably eventually hit Ike, and considering all the time warping we'll be doing, the station should be well out of Ike's way. Also, considering Duna's gravity (We aren't in Kansas- er, Minmus anymore!), we should have the station as close to Duna as possible to save delta-v. P.S. I think it's funny that the KSP forums think that words like Duna and kerbal should be spell-checked in the editor. P.S.S. After Duna, once asteroids are debugged and all (and actually do stuff), we're gonna make an asteroid base, right? -

I guess, but that wouldn't model snowing in the way that the video did. You can clearly see the 'wind' affecting the movement of the snow, it wobbles as it falls. This is inconsistent with Vall not having an atmosphere. But maybe that's just because it wouldn't look as good if it was realistic. -

Ok, you know what, forget about keeping it a secret. Don't send the fuel, Nauthy. My module is 12 Full-to-the-brim Rockomax Jumbo Orange Fuel Tanks. My Duna technique is basically using engines for descent and a bit of aero-braking, and once I'm slowed down use parachutes for the final descent. Because the parachutes are connected to my skycrane (which explodes), there is no part count problem. I find this method works best at sea level, which we will be close to. -

Whoops, I read off the numbers wrong. It's actually 7 km wide and 2 km deep (at the shallowest point) Approaching from prograde, it's about a 4km lip, which means you can approach safely at about as low as 30 degrees (assuming the base is exactly at (0, 150) and my slope formula is correct), which is almost as low as you could wish for. And on Duna, no matter how low you go, the atmosphere's pretty thin anyway. Don't worry about that. And as for the fuel situation, well.... hm.... -

Well, it might just be a bit easier considering we'll have a space station. But I guess it doesn't have to be equatorial. If the problem is that we want an interesting landing site, however... I know of a very fun crater we could use. I'll see if I can go find it. EDIT: Found it! Coordinates 0, 150. If you want to see a from-the-ground view, here's a video link: http://youtu.be/Tp6yj2k0Fpc?t=5m17s I also forgot to mention that the crater is about 2 km wide and 7 km deep. -

Yes, I like the sound of anomalies. The only problems are that 1) It might not be on the equator and 2) Some people don't like spoilers. And we're a bit low in the audience front already. Also, you seem to be bragging a bit about your launch stage. I'll have you know I was just preparing for a triple round trip to Ike. Shall we have a launch stage duel? (No idea how such a duel would work, though) When will we begin? That is truly the ultimate question, the match of many philosophers. Does the following quote help? -

What do you mean byyou haven't heard from them? Have they just sort of dissipated from this build, never to be seen again? -
Cupcake's Dropship Dealership...
CakeNinjaProductions replied to Cupcake...'s topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Well, I've been trying to come up with something clever to say for a while, but I guess I should probably just say good luck. And I should probably not be a scientific accuracy freak and point out that it is scientifically impossible for it to snow on Vall. -

Welcome, Nemrav! (Nice name.) This is the information about mods Nauthy has given us: "Mods - they are sort of allowed, just not on the final module. It's no problem if you use mods for the launch, as long as whatever you leave behind on the station is built solely from stock parts." There is a full list of rules at the beginning of this thread. And if as for the station/ground base, Nauthy ususally assigns positions, but seems to be okay with requests. We are actually about to move on to the Duna base (I think) but if you still wan't to contribute to the Minmus base/station, he often slots people in at the last second, if you ask him nicely. -Cake P.S. How do you make a profile picture for the forums?
