  1. I don't have those issues. The Command Seats may be positioned in a way such that the Kerbals are clipping through another object and are therefore being knocked around?
  2. Starsiege: Tribes had a major physics exploit in that players would slide when they landed on the ground. A player exploited that by jumping every time they touched the ground to preserve speed. It was completely untouched by the devs and was given "feature" status when players enjoyed it. This may easily be the same type of case.
  3. I built the simplest return pod I could. No parachutes - just winglets for airbraking and cubic struts for the crash landing at 180 m/s. Designed for completely vertical drops. Unfortunately, only Jeb wants to get into it... Images are backwards because imgur mobile is awful. Posting link because mobile has no bbcode link. http://imgur.com/a/pGli1
  4. Was going to post this yesterday, but I passed out D: I had my first successful Mun landing. I'm finding it's most efficient to fly straight there without orbiting.
  5. The awesome solution: Giant baseball bat made out of panels and reaction wheels. Get close, calculate angle of impact, and smash it out of orbit. The practical solution: A large scoop or bowl at the front of a small utility ship with nuclear engines.
  6. Low center of mass can be compensated for by forcing only the chassis to roll rather than the entire vehicle. Zigzagged Ibeams and junior clampotrons seem to work nicely for that. Low COM usually causes difficulty getting over sharper ledges safely. For the bonus idea I was referring to the habit that some rovers have of exploding when changing travel surface angle when warping - bottoming out, etc. The hill height only matters if jumping. Preferable screenshot example would be the rover starting a steep climb from a flat surface at 4x, but a safe landing could work if a midair shot and result shot were uploaded.
  7. I'm definitely jumping on this challenge. Any tips on making a vehicle with extremely high suspension? Mine is roughly two meters above the ground with a wide base, but it can't go in a straight line without being babysat. Just need to work that out and I'm set. A bonus challenge idea: Survive 4x time warp over a hill?
  8. Huh, that thing's pretty nice. Might try it out. Great design, though it seems a little large Can your Kerbals get out easily?
  9. I almost cried when I saw the pictures. This is a beautiful station. Too bad LKO docks cause intense physics lag (yellow or red timer) for me regardless of size.
  10. Thanks! I think it started as an attempt at making a Corvette before my lack of skill with curves caused me to scrap the roof and trunk... can't remember, I was sleep deprived when I mangled it. Turned out relatively well despite not at all being what it was supposed to be.
  11. I ripped off my solar panel on the surface of the Mun and kept going until I was in an eliptical orbit above Kerbin with no fuel the otger day. Does it count as going manual to get out and push until periapsis is at 40k meters?
  12. Hey guys, first time showing my work here. I present the Autowagen 1, a four seater vehicle just under 5 tons, built with roughly 70 parts (two models so no exact count). It is complete with a steering wheel, FM radio, and square cupholders. Due to the suspension setup, neither model will flip when turning at top speed. The Autowagen 1 uses Modular Multiwheels and Omniwheels to supply its six-cylinder engine, which pushes it to 40m/s. The 1b is the stock model and only travels at a disappointing 20 m/s. Both have large bumpers that can resist a head on collision at up to 25 m/s. http://imgur.com/a/yrBTL (Sorry about the link rather than an embedded album, but I'm posting from a phone D: )
  13. Hello! I'm Vincent. Absolutely love the game - Garry's Mod has nowhere near the forgiveness KSP does when it comes to center of mass and thrust, so I couldn't really do muchwth it. I heard about KSP from the Starmade community and decided to jump on board I'm mostly into building cars/rovers, since I like the aesthetics, part placement challenge, and the sense of joy when I get the suspension just right. I do wish there were sounds for the wheels spinning against different kinds of terrain though... You'll be able to find me in the Exchange
