  1. Thanks. I didn't know how to read a graph. That's not a great reason. Would you kick someone out of a presidential election because they're too popular? And you can't really know if it would win without a poll that did include it. Even if it did win, you would still be able to see who came in second. That's seems like quite an arbitrary decision. In the real world, nobody considers Titan or any of the Galilean moons too planet like. If you want just moon-like bodies, you should include Eeloo (which is confirmed to be a moon in the future) and Dres, and throw out Gilly for being a captured asteroid. The only definition of "moon" we should use is the one the game uses.
  2. As a new player, I like career mode. Seeing all possible parts available to you is a bit overwhelming. Getting only a handful at a time help you learn the basics. Once you get those down, it does feel a bit grindy, but for the most part I think it's a good idea.
  3. Laythe isn't my favorite, but I think it's wrong to leave it out.
  4. My first landing on the Mun on its' side too. I've done it twice so far actually. And both times I managed to take off just fine (I was so surprised too). I used the torque in the capsule to lift the nose off the ground just enough so I wouldn't be launching into the ground or the next mountain. If you can, also try to roll around so you're pointing up hill.
  5. I got this idea while designing a mission and after reading that crazy Jool challenge. I used a similar ship in my career mode game to explore Kerbin by getting a polar orbit and dropping landers as I passed over different biomes. I just bought the game while on sale on steam last week so I'm still a novice but so far I'm having a blast (pun intended). Mission Description The Kerbal Space Agency has mandated to put a Kerbal on every planet and moon. However, the Kerbal in charge of reserving the launch pad has made a mistake and now you only can launch one spaceship. Rather than have one Kerbal land on each planet, the director wants you to build a single craft capable of launching 14 Kerbals each to their own destination. To prove it's not just one Kerbal wearing different name tags, he wants all the EVA's to happen at once. Once the group EVA is complete, it's time to bring them all home. Scoring 1 point for each Kerbal doing an EVA on the planet/moon at the same time. Limit 1 Kerbal per planet/moon. Each Kerbal becomes worth 3 points if he can be returned home. Tiebreaker: Shortest time to complete. I'd be open to ideas about scoring systems that weighted different bodies based on difficulty, but for now I'd say keep it simple. Restrictions 1 launch vehicle All EVA's must happen at the same time Stock parts only Submissions Launch vehicle (each stage of splitting up would be nice too) Each Kerbal standing/swiming on the planet/moon One pic from the Tracking Station showing that the EVAs all happened at the same time. Kerbal names must be visible. If returning: Each Kerbal standing/swiming on Kerbin One pic from the Tracking Station so we know which ones made it home. Kerbal names must be visible. Sorry I didn't take more pics along the way. It started as just a simple test of the vehicle, but ended up being a full dry run. I hopefully learned something and will make a better attempt. My craft basically carries 6 landers that can each split off to do their own landing. Only the landers to Kerbin's moons had enough fuel to make it back. Basic flight summary: Mun intercept and drop off 1 lander. Minmus intercept and drop off 1 lander. Kerbin escape and head for Eve. Aerobrake to get stable orbit. Gilly intercept and drop off 1 lander. Drop off 1 lander for Eve. Eve escape. Tried to reach Moho, but failed so loaded and headed to Duna. Had to abandon some of my crew along the way and transfer as much of the fuel as possible into one of the landers. That lander went to Duna by itself, aerobraked, and landed. After taking pics, Mun and Minmus landers easily made it back home. I think this could be an interesting challenge because it could require you to be managing several vehicles at once. I can't wait to see the ships you come up with.
