About me

I am having difficulty setting up a power network. My ultimate goal is to launch using the Ion engines and their amazing thrust but huge power demand. I am using these vehicles to generate and transfer power, but for the life of me I don't get any power on my receivers. Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated. I also have a ship in space with a transmitter and solar panels.

I know this may have been answered, but after my first mission to Laythe I have enough science to upgrade my nuke reactors. What are the exact requirements to do so? I have a 3.75 powering my space station atm, and I would like to upgrade it! Then I can produce antimatter and hopefully have some when I unlock the reactors.

Version 0.8 -Added resource system for Uranium and Thorium mining -Added new nuclear reactor models by Vaporlynx -Added nuclear reactor thorium fuel options - as well as EVA shutdown/restart and refuel options -Added Gamma ray spectrometer for resource scanning -Nuclear reactor temperatures and thermal rocket isp correlation adjusted (doesn't affect engine performance) -Existing small nuclear reactor repurposed into a fusion reactor - uses Deuterium and Tritium fuel + requires power to maintain -Added Microwave Thermal Rocket - much of the code and the models by Conti -Total rewrite of Microwave transmission system, solar and nuclear power can be used together, plus proper relay functionality -Added methane oxygen rocket and ISRU sabatier process + methane oxygen fuel tank -Added refinery part to handle resource mining, nuclear fuel reprocessing and electrolysis -Electrolysis option removed from science labs -Computer core fixed for Linux -Computer core science persistence fixed -Resource manager fixed to avoid free thrust bugs -Thrust asymmetry fixed -Liquid Fuel + Oxidiser now provides proper thrust -Solar Panel inverse square law fixed, works with stock solar system and RSS -Added science lab notification of amount of science added -Improved Antimatter storage tank code -Various GUI fixes I bolded the ones that I understand. Learning curve on this game + mod is real high.

I really wish there was some sort of FAQ on how upgrading or the advanced engines work. I have spent 3000 science on 2 techs and have no progress to anything better at the moment. I also am very interested in making passive science, but I don't quite understand how to reliably get to jool or any other far planet, let alone with more than 1 science lab. I really really want to use these new ion engines I unlocked, but for now it seems conventional fuel and rockets are far more efficient.

I just realized I am simply lacking the tech right now to make this happen. I am also trying to plan my mission to moho and dres now that I have a ship with enough fuel to make the trip there (not sure about back yet). On another note, my science facilities don't seem to generate science automatically, is there a trick to it, or something in particular I might be doing wrong? (I have them in orbit with 2 crew members doing research and the 5mw power.

Okay thanks a lot, I have yet to research any of the 3000 science upgrades, but I think I will just stick to conventional boosters for now. I still need to get to some of the outer planets, and at the point I think I will research the 3000 science nuclear tech that gives the insane thrust engines. I can't tell you how silly I feel with my ship on the launch pad and watching it fall and explode as it has no thrust. I thought it was an issue with my configuration.

Hi, I am new to this game as of around a few days ago, and I am currently loving this mod. I am having some issues with the new thrusters I unlocked, as they don't actually generate thrust even though I believe I assembled them correctly. I am to the point of farming science via orbital labs, and I would like some insight as to what I am doing wrong, thanks for the help. Photo of one of my small lab rockets:
