    Bottle Rocketeer
  1. Spotted it. In a vanilla playthrough while decending. I had a Rover and thought I went down near it. Took me like almost an RL hour to get there from the landing zone, lol.
  2. Same here, I'm practically through the tech tree. However, I still need to get this rover to Eve, because I want to drive in a purple dawn. And then some more interplanetary stuff. I wish Interstellar would update - I want to do it the atomic way.
  3. Did somebody call me? Press "Space" is the way to go. Then hide your head under a blanket.
  4. Gamey is actually taking a contract and exploiting the part which is meant to be tested. But having satellites where people may need data from is totally not. I find it quite immersive and I like to have done something that is useful even after the actual mission. Saying it's an exploit is strange. Such as when the government gave a contract for building a railroad and when it's finished and someone operates it - should there be no earnings coming off it? The return and rewards is another thing, but I'm sure those will be looked at.
  5. I don't even know what magic boulder was.
  6. Kerbal Insurance Co. is very happy not to have to pay out for the loss of the poor guy.
  7. Right clicky stuff is because of x64? Didn't know that - I thought it was the parts count on my excessive orbital redocking. Honestly, I don't see much difference. I thought it might be better since I run a x64 OS. I like the new customizable lights, though - but that's in x32, too. I have no clue where there is a difference except maybe memory management. It's quite stable, too.
  8. Being the Munar pioneer in my current playthrough, he sits with Bob in a fancy Aluminum Hybrid powered rocket that is awkward to manouver somewhere in the midlands. Before, he pulled off an atmospheric EVA stunt and managed to get back to the rocket during re-entry. And he jumped the Mun-1 lander to rendezvouz the Munlab and a Science Extractor lander going a couple of km through Munar space in his EVA suit at ridiculous speed. He's a tough one.
  9. How did this go with including the refinery part in the cfg? I have no clue what to type in there. Edit: Nevermind - I just installed the hotfix. Wohoo, Count Nukular is about to do some core science!
  10. I never change inclination when returning to Kerbin from the Mun. You end up in Kerbin orbit anyway. I always launch East. Lifting off in the opposite direction the Mun is orbiting Kerbin is not really adviseable, I think. Exiting the Mun Influence in the opposite direction is what is probably better a proposition. Just get a Munar orbit and check with a node which Munar Escape gives the best orbit around Kerbin. If you've got low fuel, keep in mind you only need to get the periapsis into Kerbin atmosphere (<75km). The craft will go down eventually then.
  11. Played career mode, learned to use the limited tech for orbits, learned to use the nodes, learned to land on Mun and other celestial bodies, figured out some spaceplane basics. Then I unlocked the orange tanks and spent 8h to design a ship that would make it into orbit. I finally made MechJeb work again - it's a big helper for these design jobs.
  12. Suborbital Eva in atmosphere. Jebediah lost his grip but managed to RCS back to the pod. I just can't get him killed.
  13. I thought I'd never learn that too, but then I figured out how to use Nav-Ball and the Nodes (they can be moved!!! along the orbit). Once you're close, kill your relative v to target (target mode), point to target and accelerate. Use little amounts of thrust and coast. Go retrograde once you pass the target and kill your v again (all relative to target). The rest is figuring out how to use RCS (docking mode - remember the space bar) and align the docking ports.
  14. Daww, I was just thinking about launching a parade without seat belt into orbit. For science - I might to it nonetheless. I once built a kind of cage for a suborbital EVA and was lucky when the Kerbal didn't fly out. He sure did survive some stress. It would have been more safer with the robotic arm mod I used before the latest version.
