  1. Center of mass isn't really a problem as long as it doesn't move in behind the center of lift, and if it worries you that much just attach them in line with the center of mass.
  2. clamp a pair of them to the wings and drop them after you start rolling?
  3. I forgot to mention: The microwave receivers won't take more power than your radiators can handle, so to get max thrust out of it you need to have enough radiators.
  4. generators have to be attached directly to the reactor, with nothing in between.
  5. You could make a mothership with an abundance of reactors and generators and a microwave transmitter. Then your scout plane just needs a 1.25m plasma engine and some fuel of choice, with a ring of microwave receivers pointing in various directions.
  6. I meant omnidirectional more in terms of forming connections, as a way of limiting the number of connections. The omnidirectional ones would be shorter ranged to incentivise using directional point-to-point transmitters.
  7. You could make it more like RemoteTech, short range omnidirectional transmission with higher attenuation, long range directional with low attenuation. It could be implemented as a toggleable mode.
  8. The Relay mode on the microwave power transmitters doesn't persist, but the relay still works somehow. I have my 3-satellite power network in Kerbin geostationary orbit, 2 receiver-powered relay satellites near the Mun. My test probe still receives power when behind the moon. Satellites connected: 3 to 5 Relay: 2
