I absolutely love the new powerful liquid+oxidizer powered RCS engine, I can make VTOLs really easy now!

My Hopes for Contracts
uui8457 replied to Sandworm's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I haven't even considered the possibility of the contract system being used as another tutorial for newbies. That sound so awful but sadly still like something that may happen. -
And now, for something completely different.

More struts, and after that add more boosters. -
New build going... "Instant Space Station".

How many tones does it lift to LKO? -
Some games give you a building to explore. Some give you a forest. Some even give you an entire city. But only ksp has an entire solar system to explore.

I did the same thing but when returning from Moho. I ran out of fuel on the way back and cheated. I think I have too much sympathy for my poor Kerbals.

3.75m RCS tanks, and bigger RCS ports
uui8457 replied to Sun's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I'm imagining the 3.75m tank to look like a thin strip, sort of like the other versions of up scaled parts: TR-XL Stack Separator, Clamp-O-Tron Sr. Docking Port and Z-4K Rechargeable Battery Bank. And not have too much more fuel than the FL-R1 RCS Fuel Tank already has. That would be cool. -
Whatever you do, don't go looking around duna's poles. On one of my recent missions I landed on both the north and the south pole. They are quite the opposite of flat. Pretty interesting though, I would recommend everyone to visit at least once.

Originally, the mainsail and skipper were designed to be heavy first-stage engines. Now with the addition of the SLS engines, they could take the role of larger transfer stages. If only they didn't have such a low ISP. It really needs to be tweaked.

Holly Mother of all Kerbals what the heck just happened !?
uui8457 replied to Jimmy Jazz's topic in KSP1 Discussion
It shouldn't be, I play stock and get that aswell -
Holly Mother of all Kerbals what the heck just happened !?
uui8457 replied to Jimmy Jazz's topic in KSP1 Discussion
The few reasons I can think of are: -a bug with a mod -thrust limiter at 0 or very low They aren't good reasons but that is what I can think of, it really seems like a kraken situation -
Always include parachutes, even if you're just going to the local space station. They don't weigh too much and are super useful for getting back to kerbin with minimal hassle. ALWAYS

In my action group for transisting I turn off the Jet engines, close all the intakes and start my rocket engine(s) When closing all the intakes at the same time, the engines cut off immediately and doesn't make my plane spin, no matter what. Are you sure you have both of the engines in your action group? If you for example attached them one-by-one without symmetry and then clicking on just one of them for the action group, only one will of course acctually turn off. Hope you get it sorted out!

What's The One Thing That Niggles You About KSP
uui8457 replied to NeoMorph's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Accidently pressing F5 (Quick save) instead of F9 (Quick load)… That is a moment of mental breakdown sometimes -
VAB radial attachment won't attach
uui8457 replied to Rabid_Monkey's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
That has happened to me too many times, and it's very annoying. Why is it as it is? Does it have to be this way? -
Just one extra part.
uui8457 replied to Clockwork_werewolf's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Hahaha, oh yes, That has happened to me too -
Jag är också svensk, tänkte "anmäla" mig här... Och nu: Mot Eve!
-
I only play stock, I don't have anything against mods but I want to do everything (everything) with the original content before adding new.

Alternatives for atomic interplanetary travel?
uui8457 replied to AletzN1's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I seem to use the skipper most often, it's obligatory in my launch stage and I usually have the central bit of it still full of fuel when I'm in orbit (A.K.A. halfway to anywhere) so that is naturally my engine of choice since it's got the good balance between ISP and thrust. -
THAT is the perfect landing, two burns, no more. It makes me want to fly to the Mün… -I'll be right back!
-
They sure add to the awesomeness, but other then that I don't find them particularly useful since the decouplers often have the force required.
-
But will that include the flags, settings and add-ons?
-
I've learnt one thing about stationary Jool orbits: never circularize lower then Laythe's orbit, there is nothing there so you'll just be wasting fuel trying to get places.

Nice video! Bonus points for interesting content and good editing I too think this could be inspiring for new-er-ish players who are looking for some motivation. I myself am a stock-only player, at least for now until I have done everything stock wise. I just took the big leap to the jool system and it feels almost like a new game.

I recently tried something (to me) completley new: Using the cupola pod on the launch pad and correct timing, you can see more planets in the IVA view then you would think. I've managed to get pictures of the Mün, Minmus, Eve, Duna and Jool only by zooming and looking around. It provides a few minutes of entertainment atleast
