I recently posted for the first time a few days back about an expanding kethane overlay problem. I received a moderate amount of help but in the end wound up going through my game save code section by section until i found the problem. This is the first time ive logged back into forums since i got the problem fixed... i never posted what i did to fix it due to such little input. Well now it seems im not the only person with this problem so i will post what i did and hopefully this will help others. in the end it was so simple it hurt. Basically i started removing sections of code from my save file looking for perhaps SOMETHING I DID to cause this kethane overlay expansion problem. I narrowed it down to flight status (things i have in game going) and on a whim the first thing i removed out to test was the flag i had planted on both minmus and mun. WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL holy ***** my fellow kerbals that was the issue. FOR SOME MESSED UP REASON?!?!?! planting a flag on a planet caused my overlay for that given body to mess up and expand. I deleted the code for the flags and loaded game and things were fixed. I also tested that this could be done from the tracking center, it can. So try this on for size Step 1. Remove flags planted on bodies from flight center Step 2. Close game Step 3. Open game Step 4. Profit Also: I had custom flags in just standard .png flags of the international flag pack. I havent tried to see if this is modded flags causing problem or both stock and modded. Frankly i believe its the planting of the flag itself that causes this issue. I hope this helps others cause it took me 5 hours of screwin with code to narrow it down myself (im noob on code)

More info: It appears to be just the save file itself.... if i remove the save files from that game and start a new game then the problem is gone.... but what the hell makes the problem in the first place and why on earth would a save mess up all other saves... also if this helps i tried to launch the quick-save as the persistent for the game in question and it told me the save file was incompatible. I literally had reinstalled and started that game why would a persistent be compatible but not a quick-save. Edited more info: Removed the quicksave and just left in persistent for game in question. Went into game and loaded a new game and had no problems... Then loaded my other game and persistent and encountered problem... THEN WENT BACK to new game and the problem had appeared there as well. wtf is going on? i guess this is my problem "Fixed the scan overlay disappearing when the center moves out of the camera view." i am using most recent version of kethane

Well im back, i thought i solved my problem as stated on previous page but i have not.... i woke up loaded into game and literally encountered the same overlay issue with minmus and mun that i was having before the complete reinstall dear god if anyone has any idea why its doing this? or why the hell closing and reopening the game would cause this please clue me in. I'm assuming this is all related to mechjeb but i just cant figure it out. Why would closing down the game and reopening cause such an issue and only with mun and minmus. please help a kerbal out

I fixed the problem I shall explain in case anyone encounters this. Went ahead and did a full reinstall. Then started dropping in mods one by one. Sure enough i got all the mods in and no problems were to be had. I then dropped in my save file because i did not really wanna restart that career. I loaded my save and the problem was still there... Then i loaded a fresh save from this install and strangely enough the problem was there as well now. I removed my old save files loaded back in and loaded the fresh save. No problems. So I'm to understand i guess that old save files from old mod versions can corrupt new save files? I had no idea saves interacted with each other like that. If I'm off the ball here someone fill me in.

Ok apparently i thought i had updated mechjeb but all i did was dl the file and snooze. I updated mechjeb went into game encountered same problem. I then tried the next recommendation, removed mechjeb entirely and sure enough that SOLVED the problem. now the question is why? How can i fix it? because i really want my kethane mining station for rocket refueling to be on and at minmus.

I think your referring to that mod scansat. I dont have that mod, actually i never even heard about it till i started thumbing through the pages here looking for an answer. Lets see i have.... Kethane (newest version) Mechjeb (newest version) KAS (newest version) Fasa Parts Hull camera Kw rocketry parts Kommit Nucleonics The radio chatter thing and thats it ive removed all others to try ruling stuff out

well i just joined the forum because i got a specific problem. I have tried searching threads for this issue to no avail, so if someone has posted about this please direct me to where i might go for a fix. My issue: I was playing kerbal after the most recent update and upon doing a drill activity i realized it wasnt working. Of course this awesome mod was updated so i therefore grabbed the update and replaced the old kethane mod folder. Everything works correctly except for one issue i cant seem to hunt down. For some reason the grid overlay for kethane on both minmus and mun is just messed. It shows as if only a portion of the planet and enlarged and just impossible to do actual scans and land where a kerbal needs to land. Before i had updated the kethane mod i had scanned minmus a little but NOT the mun and yet this issue affects both moons AND ONLY those two moons. I tried starting a new career and a new sandbox with the exact same issues. Edited in 5 min later: ALSO the grid overlays themselves for both mun and minmus dont even show up in the tracking center or the solar system map... i literally have to be at the mun or minmus to get the issue I'm talking about otherwise there is no hex overlay whatsoever. If anyone has a clue to what is going on i would love some input. i have also updated all the mods i have that could be updated and other then kethane KAS and mechjeb the other few mods i have are parts only. any input or thread redirect is much appreciated and since this is my first time posting let me say thanks to the makers of Kethane mod and all the others, you folks do a great job
