I have the radial parachute mounted on the capsule itself. I drop all stages before reentry. So I have just the capsule ...then at what appears to be maximum heating, the parachute deploys by itself and makes a nice secondary fireball. I don't touch anything...it does it by itself. The parachute doesn't burn up and fully opens at 500m as it should.

Why does my radial parachute deploy by itself during reentry? Is it overheating? I have it mounted on a single person capsule running on the Linux version of KSP. I am a relative beginner to the game so maybe I am doing something wrong. Thanks for your help!
