This MOD has been merged into "Next Star Industries" download here: https://spacedock.info/mod/2506/Next Star Industries or here: https://github.com/NextStarIndustries/Next-Star-Industries/releases/tag/v2.3.0 BDArmory Weapons Extension is NOT a part of BDArmory Continued NSI is not a part of the BDArmory Team!! A military and aerospace manufacturer that specializes in nuclear and heavy weapons. With a die hard never sleeping R&D department, NSI takes things to the next level, pushing science and technology into the future, but continues to build and supply the tried and true products of the past and present. Pictures are here. NSI's Mods Currently used UV Maps, for those wishing to edit textures, can be downloaded from here. Get the KSP v1.8.1 and BDAc v1.3.2 and of NSI's BDArmory Weapons Extension here. BDArmory Weapons Extension's Required Mod List: The latest version of BDArmoryContinued is required to be installed. BDAc requires Physics Range Extender to be installed. Module Manager is required for some Mods to work. Localization Dictionary Translated from English to русский, Français, Nederlands, 简体中文, 日本語, Deutsche, čeština, and Español. We have Longitude and Latitude in game visible since day 1, IMO we should have access to GPS only if we are in range of GPS satellites/transmitters. This would require one new part "GPS module" for GPS satellites, no additional part on vehicle (probe core would solve it with new feature). If your craft is in range of at least 2-3 GPS satellites then you can see Longitude and Latitude. Depends on orbit (range from our craft) of GPS satellites we could have different accuracy (degrees, minutes, seconds). In career mode it would give us new contracts "cover area X with GPS". Sometimes GPS module could fail and it would require to be serviced by engineer. Repairs should be possible only from command seat and craft equipped with "spare parts box". This mechanic could be used for lots of new things for example drills could also fail from time to time...

Ariane 5 will launch today from Kourou to put galileo satellites into orbit. If the launch is successfull, it will be the 75th success in a row! watch live : http://www.esa.int/Our_Activities/Navigation/Galileo/Launching_Galileo/Watch_the_launch_of_Galileos_15_18

I think KSP should get a mod that adds GPS satellite parts so that GPS satellites can be launched and be used to determine a player’s position anywhere based on data in a GPS constellation (GEO and MEO; similar to real life). This suggestion is mostly based on the Figaro GPS mod, which added GPS parts and functionality, but it hasn’t been updated for a long time. Personally I would like Squad to implement this in game, but if other modders are interested it would be greatly appreciated. What are your opinions and/or suggestions on this idea? You can post them below.

Why do GPS IIFs fly with SRBs on Delta IV? I mean, Delta IV without any boosters + 4m diameter upper stage seem to be able to launch GPS sats just fine- The Atlas V 401, also used to launch GPS, only has marginally higher performance, (0.5-0.2 more T to LEO, and 0.05 more T to GTO), and the Centaur used on Atlas V GPS missions even has enough fuel to do a DEORBIT BURN. Also, both were made to launch GPS on their basic configurations. So...why are 2 SRBs used? Why waste money on SRBs when the rocket doesn't really need it to launch GPS? http://www.spacelaunchreport.com/delta4.html http://www.spacelaunchreport.com/atlas5.html http://www.nasaspaceflight.com/2015/03/ula-delta-iv-gps-iif9/

Does the Figaro GPS mod work in 1.0.5? The thread says 1.0, but the DL says 0.23.5.

Here is the idea. If you have a group of GPS satellites on orbit and you are done with SCANSat mapping then you could do fast travel on your plane. This will give a reason to build GPS constellations and will make easier contracts sort of "take scientific data from 5 points on 9999km distance from each other". No more boring half-hour flights. Conditions: - SCANSat map, you can fast travel only in discovered area - at least 3 GPS satellites in line of sight (there is old GPS antenna part in SCANSat) - be on cruising altitude (10km, for example) You pick a point on a map, plugin calculates the route and fade out screen (maybe turn on more than 4x warp). Fuel spending is calculated too: if your fuel level became lower than 15% fast travel stops at a calculated point on the route and you can make an emergency landing.
