So.... I've possibly set myself a super stupid task. Do a full circumnavigation of kerbin (minus a ferrry ride, or something with pontoons, or full submersible, I haven't decided yet.) in a train. Specifically, this Mallard replica. It's very nice, but isn't super suited to rough terrain, long journeys, and that kind of stuff. But what the heck! Let's give it a shot. I'll do this in small segments, so each day is corresponding to what I did in a session of driving, and how far I've driven (about) Day 1-33 km And the Mallard sets off. Probably the first of many, as explosions are inevitable. I forgot to plant a flag, but its to the runway, so.... yeah. Initial handling at around 30 m/s is pretty good, so I'm going to sick to that as a top speed, although it could go significantly faster. It was at this point I forgot that I didn't have an engineer on board. Oops. Better go send one then. I know that many wheels will probably break on this journey, so having one is quite important. Yeah, I took a sports car to transfer an engineer. Its also single seat, so that car is staying there. I might return t it the long way round. Hey, well now I have an engineer aboard. Floating trees! KSP is "realistic". Kinda hope this gets fixed, although its not much of a concern. Whoops! Went to fast and rolled it. Not to worry, a crapton of SAS wheels (or magical-infinte-energy-pointing-devices) helped right it. Also may have broken a couple parts. Nothing important though.I'm making the route up as I go along. I'm heading north though, for this first leg. I followed the flattest part of the land before deciding to take amountain pass. Which was stupid, since it was rather hilly. I also caught air! Which broke some wheels. Some train images. And I'm calling it here. It took about half an hour to drive 30 km. This is going to take a while. On the plus side, the wheels are fixed. Map of rough progress.

Howdy, everybody! In this fancy little mission report, which, as of April 23, 2017 has undergone severe renovations, I'm going to document what I've been up to on Kerbin and beyond. My older reports on this thread have been about me flying around Kerbin to see different features that strike my fancy, and, while I don't plan on ending that anytime soon, I'm expanding the scope of this little mission report in order to focus on craft projects and other exploits as well.
