I found that the pocket variant works as a great boat with SAS turned on. I found this out by folding in the wheels and thinking "That looks like a boat!" So, I Hyperedited it to the water, and it gets about 4 meters per second, works on Eve too, although not nearly as good. It also works really good on Laythe, so if you want to explore the oceans, the pocket variant is for you. *Note* I have not tried the normal variant, but it has one engine, so may not work as well.

Lol, wasn't intended for that, but I'm not too surprised, because the locked suspension of the pocket increase control and stability over pretty much any terrain xD

The only problem I see using it as a boat would be the 2 thrusters, they're in the water I suppose? They could explode easily.

Oh and by the way, I'm uploading right now a vid of the new model 8, which is MUCH better than model 7. I'll link it here in half an hour.

You can already find its thread here.

Wow, nice! I'm downloading that now! I really like just how versatile KSP is, and how people like you find all these cool ways to make ordinary objects using not-so-ordinary means. Nicely done! Also, the new one works as a boat. XD

Going to try dropping it from altitude to see its max fall height.

In some ways i like the 7 more than the 8. It seems like this one can turn sharper at higher speeds and i like the overall shape more.

For the 9 I think you should try combinding these last two. The shape of the 7 and a shorter and stronger frame to absorb stronger impacts.

@ Gmack85 Thanks! I love KSP for the same reason, you know you can have some weird concept, build it and test it live within the simulation. So much fun building these.

@ Jon144 The 7 is more like a crossbike because of it has a triple LV1R (ant engine) hinge swingarm with only 1 small landing strut as suspension while the 8 has a double LV1R swingarm with 3 landing struts (2small, 1 medium), that makes the rear suspension a bit harder and more precise, but at higher speeds a slightly too steep bump will cause a crash unlike the 7.

Also the tank attachment is a bit stabler on the 7 (struted around the core), that way it carries 1.5x more fuel and feels lighter with the same amount of reaction wheels.

The front for is angled forward more on the 7 which also helps deal with high steep bumps..

There's still a lot of room for improvements of course, which is always fun

I've already started testing ideas for the 9th iteration :D
