KMC Trucks - Powered by B9 Procedural

Recommended Posts

I'm taking a break from making air/spacecraft so decided to put my newfound enthusiasm on procedural wings to good use.

I needed a basic utility vehicle to service my future fleet of aircraft and spaceplanes parked around Kerbin (kerbinside airports!), keeping them fuelled and shuttling crew around.

A basic truck chassis with body on frame construction would be the best bet as I would be able to swap vehicle bodies easily - the floor of the truck is one gigantic B9 procedural airfoil to save on part count.

The ride was surprisingly good! Some tell me the rover wheels get punctured easily but in this setup the suspension seems perfectly soft and compliant, making for a surprisingly comfortable ride over all terrain. I haven't had a punctured tyre yet. The truck also survived an accidental drop down steep terrain (actually, the side of a kerbinside structure) without much damage, leading me to think that a Top Gear style durability test is in order.

However, it being a truck, taking sharp turns at high speed is definitely not recommended!
