KASX - Mod Compatibility for Kerbal Attachment System

Development Ended - KIS renders this obsolete

Download from Dropbox

This is a relatively simple plugin that I hope to expand into a major library for Kerbal Attachment System configurations for modded parts

Below is a list of all supported mods and their respective supported parts.

Currently Supported Mods: 13

AR202 case

Special: When grabbed, all MechJeb data can be viewed by EVA Kerbal. However, autopilot features do not work with EVA pack.

ER-7500 Computer Flight Unit; Kerbal Engineering System (chip)

Special: When grabbed, all Engineer data can be viewed by EVA Kerbal.

RADAR Altimetry (low-res) scanner; Multispectral scanner; BTDT scanner

Basic Hull Camera Deluxe; KerbPro; Aerocam; Aerocam 180; ScienceCam; NavCam; BoosterCam

Special: Grabbed KerbPro acts as an Apollo-style chest camera; grabbed NavCam acts as a forehead camera AND AN EXCELLENT FIRST PERSON EVA SIMULATOR!

KRK 1x4 Concentrating; KRX 1x3 Concentrating; KRQ 1x4 High-Efficiency; T65 1x5 Concentrating; T225 1x5 Concentrating; YF-1 Circular Concentrating

Adapter; Nosecone; Science Experiments; SRM-S Motor; SRM-L Motor; Rocket Fins

Special: All the parts necessary for a basic Sounding Rocket can be stored in a Type B KAS container and assembled on-site, making them useful for off-Kerbin use.

CommTech EXP-VR-2T; Communotron 32; Reflectron KR-7; Reflectron DP-10

Fuel Controller; ALT-Pro Altimeter; Drainex 1 Fuel Sensor; Radio-GAGA; AGT-Timer; V1 Valve; V2 Valve Straight

KA-100 Detection Array

All AES parts

Special: AES Pods can be assembled on-site (Pod and Fan cannot be stored, though).

MSR Multipurpose Stacked Booster; R5 and R6 RCS Blocks; R1 Linear RCS Port; R1A Compressed Air Thrust Nozzle; N1 Small Omni Light; N2 Large Omni Light; A1 Spotlight; Info Drive; 0.5m and 1m Protective Railings

20mm, 30mm, and 50cal Ammunition Boxes; Weapon Manager; Adjustable Missile Rail; AGM-114 Hellfire Missile; S-8KOM Rocket Pod; Countermeasure Pod; AGM-65 Maverick Missile; Hydra-70 Rocket Pod; Mk82 Bomb; Mk82 SnakeEye Bomb; HE-KV-1 Missile; AIM-9 Sidewinder Missile; AIM-120 AMRAAM Missile

Special: I mostly ignored size on this mod just because it is really cool to be able to build reusable fighters and other vehicles, using maintenance Kerbals to restock missiles and reload the guns between forays.

Gamma Ray Spectrometer; Gas and Liquid Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer; Microwave Beamed Power Receiver Micro; Small Radial Radiator; Flat Radiator; Small Heat Radiator; 62.5cm "SAFE-1500" Fission Reactor; 62.5cm Thermal Rocket Nozzle; 62.5cm ATTILA Thruster

Check out the showcase Imgur album here (currently under construction) until I can figure out how to embed it onto the page.

PLEASE feel free to request more mods to add. I am working on adding more, but don't assume I am working on your favorite! Repeat requests (by different people, of course) are encouraged so that I can gauge which mods are most desired.

Developers, feel free to request your mod's compatibility code if your mod is on this list. I will be happy to give it to you if you want to incorporate it into the base mod (or use it for whatever else).

Plans:

-Format parts to look better while being carried (reduce clipping into Kerbal)

-Standardize the storage size of parts between mods for better balance

-Add more download links (CKAN, Curse, etc.)

-Add pictures

-ADD MORE MODS!!!

Hm, theres already two similar things, http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/71683-A-Mechanic-Is-Jeb-or-KAS-For-Almost-Everything (doesn't seem to have been updated or added to in a long while), and http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/99235-0-90-2015-01-08-MonkeyWrench-0-1-6-For-when-subtlety-and-finesse-just-won-t-do (has the same parts as the previous one, and then some, plus throws in a few extra features and a few parts the author made, but those are optional. Not to mention more active.), but hey, more choices around I guess.

Though I guess the main difference between those and this one is that this one aspires to be a KAS library for many mods.

Edit: Just to clarify, I'm not saying that this is a bad thing, I think it's good to have a KAS library for many mods. The two that I linked already have lots of mods listed, so, you might be able to use that to get a head start. What's REALLY missing though, is full USI capability with Karbonite, MKS/OKS, Exploration pack and FTT. Although I don't think there are very many parts in FTT that could get KAS applied.

Thanks for pointing those out, I'd never seen them before! No, I won't be adding any parts (I'm no good at modeling or anything like that). The main goal of this mod is to add KAS features that feature some realism (small, light-ish weight parts only) to any and all mods that the community wants. And if I feel like it, I *might* add things like Tweakscale, TweakableEverything, etc. for mods as well.

EDIT: I really do appreciate you pointing those out, it will help me get off to a solid start adding mods. Also, the USI mods are some of my favorites and therefore are close to the top of my list to check out, although I know Kolonization already has at least partial compatibility.

@smjjames Thanks for the shoutout. :) What do you mean by full USI compatibility? It seems like every module that makes sense to have KAS functionality already does.

@KerbinDriveYards: I welcome contributions to MonkeyWrench's github tree!

@WarrenSchultz: I would like to apologize for posting this mod when you were already working on practically the same thing. I wasn't aware of your mod until I was told about it above. I have not and will not copy any of your code, even if I do cover some of the same mods. I do however have some ideas of where I want to go with this mod in the long run that are different from the goals of MonkeyWrench, so I plan on sticking with it personally for a while.
