Does Intel Core i3 and Intel Core I7 have the same socket ?

I ask because I want is to buy myself a new computer, my present is probably 6 years if not more. I do not have resources but currently I'm going to make, I'm thinking that in May or June I had enough money in my account. It would be a wonderful gift for getting a master's degree Library Science or a consolation prize in the event of failure of the final exam for one person worthy of this award, with is me -)

Recently I get google ad with information on the new computer, I guess it was for this that recently I was looking for information about buying computers, so the "Uncle Google" is good advice about this now computers on Saturn electronic store ;-)

I have Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 on my old computer i wonder does if buy computer Intel® Core i3-4130 3.4 GHz does i can later buy and switch to something more powerful for gaming like Intel Core i7

Yes. That processor has an FCLGA1150, as does the i7-4770.

Intel do love to change sockets, though, so be careful. The new Skylake chips coming later this year will use an LGA1151 socket, where a haswell chip you buy today will use LGA1150.

Remember that i3,i5 and i7 are just marketing terms and cover multiple generations of processors, so when you buy your new processor be sure to get a haswell or broadwell chip that uses the older socket.
