KSPI mods compatibility question

KSP Interstellar 0.90 Post by Boris-Barboris

KSP Interstellar Extended by Freethinker

KSP Interstellar/Near Future Integration by Freethinker

They're all variants of the same thing. Install one of them only.

I would install KSPI Extended by FreeThinker. While they will all work together, KSPIE is the most up to date version (And adds lots of little things to reduce memory usage)

Hello...

Good question here and as above only use one...this is a problem for me cause I use what I consider the ORIGINAL version as I havnt a clue as to what people are doing with these MODS now; it is getting out of hand if you ask me I dont mean to be rude here but when people use other peoples' coding in their MODS and the coding in the original MOD doesnt even work up to SPEC, it compunds the problem...Granted I applaud MODDERS for trying to fix them, but I think credit to origianl authors is being lost in the process.

Why do I say this...MODS NEED A FORM OF TRACKING - How are KSP Testers/Players supposed to track a problem when the orignal author of the MOD is not in place in the MOD? The Problem is this: The fact that there are so many MODs once they are downloaded the source URL is basically LOST or forgotten; I have so many I cant possibly keep track of them all; this is why ORIGINAL AUTHORS' names NEED TO BE IN THOSE MODS.

If people fix them that is fine, but if the original author of the code is not there, good luck in getting it to work; therefore, I ALWAYS go to the ORIGINAL author's work and use it as a template so I can understand how it works...go to KSP version v24 and use that as a template as well if you need to; I use v24 to make my v90 Tech Tree ! You can always find an earlier version of the best MODS to try in KSP v24.

Once you understand the code, then pick and choose; Interstellar is called WarpPlugin in the folder; another slightly confusing issue; if yer folder doesnt say 'WarpPlugin', then it isnt Interstellar; now that may have changed with updates as I have not checked in the last month I been so busy fixing Life Support Resources.

Some MODDERS will start out making resources simply - like making rocketparts with ElectricCharge (!)...check those cfg part files; I prefer MODS that use more CFG's and less DLLs as DLLs are hard-coded and not easily customizable; you can use that as a guide as well.
