An idea: A way to have collaborative save files without having to screw about with turns. When you fly a ship into space orbit, you can then "finalize" it and it will publish to the main server, and any changes to a craft will be made. A Permission and Turns system for any one spacecraft will be needed. (two people can't dock to the same ship at any one time, for instance.) The plugin would also maintain contact so your game knows when to reload a craft.

It sounds like you're looking for something like Subversion or a similar revision-control system -- players "check out" a vessel (and thus prevent anyone else from checking it out until they're done), modify it (i.e. fly it) and then "commit" it to the server. Jebretary might be a good start, especially if you can host a save over a network. This would lead to challenges with time, but as long as people are careful about, say, not having rendezvousing vessels checked out by two different people, everything should (might?) work out alright.
